The Aquarium of Barcelona gets more fascinating the deeper you go in. In the beginning there was a small show for younger kids that got everyone super hooked and ready to enter the aquarium. When we entered there was a lot of sea animals. At first the don’t catch your attention but as you read the information about each fish given below it is so interesting to see how the work. There was a lot of unique, colorful and fun fish and more uncommon animals such as the seahorses and starfishes. There was a tunnel area where it was all glass around us and we could really see the animals fully in their more natural habitat. It also gave everyone a really good view of each animal to really get to see them better. My favorites were the seahorses, sting rays, sharks and eels. You cannot miss it! It was so amazing that even the young kids who were there had a fun time and didn’t cry once. Overall my favorites was the tunnel and there are two tunnels. After there is a feeding koi area.

I’ve been to Barcelona five times. Each time for a different reason and with a different group (business trip, family, friends...). This was the first time we took this bus, and it was my best experience. In fact, if you know how to enjoy the places and not just rush through them, I recommend the 48-hour pass. We didn’t even stop everywhere during our 24-hour trip, and we booked Park Güell separately for the last available time slot at 6:30 p.m. and arrived there after 7 p.m. And especially if you’re on a short stay, this will save you a week of walking around on the metro and bus. Download their app, and it even shows you in real time where the nearest bus is. We never waited more than 5 minutes at the designated stops.

The Barcelona Aquarium is perhaps the best place for families with kids to learn about marine biodiversity and the importance of marine conservation, two themes that run close to everything the Aquarium does in terms of its activities and its setup. The facility is divided into 35 aquariums and enclosures that house approximately 11,000 animals across 450 species. The three main zones include Planeta Aqua, the Oceanarium, and Explora! Children's Area, each more unique than the other. Needless to say, if you have little ones tagging along with you, make sure they check out the Explora! zone to help spark an interest in oceanology!
