On Your Way to the Royal Palace

Embark upon this historical journey through Seoul that has a lot of stunning sights in store for you. Start your day by boarding an air-conditioned minivan and settling in as your tour guide commences the tour. First off, you will pass by the Deoksugung Palace. This palace is famous for its western-styled garden and modern aura.

Take in the luxury of it all before heading on to The Royal Palace, and pay attention to all the sights along the way. Cheonggyecheon stream, the Blue House otherwise known as “Cheongwadae”, and the historic exhibit of Cheongwadae Sarangchae are some of them. Make sure to listen closely to your tour guide for interesting facts and information about each.

At the Royal Palace

Once at The Royal Palace of Gyeongbokgung, make sure to see the Royal Guard Changing Ceremony, which is a rare traditional scene in Korea. The National Folk Museum stands on the grounds of the Palace and is a great way for visitors to trace historical traits and cultural relevance of the Korean lifestyle.

Note that on Tuesdays, you will be taken to the Deoksugung Palace instead of the Gyeongbokgung Palace. With sights equally stunning, the Royal Changing Guard Ceremony takes place at this palace as well. The splash of colors involved during the ceremony is worth a thousand words, so make sure to bring your cameras along.

Korean-Styled Luncheon

After the Royal Palace tour, you will be taken to the Jogyesa Temple, which plays a significant role in the current state of Seon Buddhism. Take a short break for lunch and tickle your palate with the Korean flavours of the Dolsot Bibimbab, a traditional Korean rice dish.

On Your Way to the Shopper’s Stop

Make your way to the bustling shopping hub of Seoul, the Namdaemun Market. These lanes are filled with traditional craft stores with plenty of antiques and souvenirs to be bought. With the Namdaemun market being close to the downtown area, right after this pitstop, visitors will be dropped off at the City Hall Subway Station (or the Myeongdong Lotte Hotel), bringing the tour to an end.
