A small Viking fishing settlement that grew to become one of Europe’s most influential economic hubs, Copenhagen is amongst the most beautiful cities on the continent. It is home to an array of architectural wonders including the Amalienborg Palace and the Statue of the Little Mermaid. After you join your guide to begin the bike tour, you will weave through the extensive network of bicycle lanes in the city. As you travel through the city, you will find that much of Copenhagen is a brilliant blend of the old and the new. The towering Renaissance-era summer castle of Rosenborg stands in stark contrast to the modern architecture of the Royal Danish Library building. The recently-opened Cykelslangen (Bicycle Snake) Bridge is a treat to cycle through. The colorful houses nestled in the quaint 17th-century Nyhavn entertainment district is truly a sight to behold. Widely regarded as one of the most well-preserved fortresses in Europe, the lofty Kastellet (Citadel) serves as a historic symbol of Danish military might. You can pause at any of these locations and click a few quick photographs. As you breeze past the harbor baths and take in a few more exquisite sights, you will begin heading towards Vesterbro, the meatpacking district of Copenhagen. With an expert guide always by your side, there is much that you will learn on this extensive tour of the city!
