Its a most beautiful castle . Built and designed as a joyous dream. Though planned and paid by kings and aristocracy we can admire it today from inside and outside, including the beautiful gardens that surround it. Unlike some other castles you can enter the permisses and savor the beauty, walk or ride bikes around without the fèe for entering the castle if you don't want to or you are short in time. I loved the explanations though the table was heavy and didn't add much. The headphones were enough.

I had always heard about Chambord Castle (and the liquor). It was GREAT to finally be able to visit and tour the Chateau and Gardens. I've always loved architecture and Chambord is truly a masterpiece! Ticket buying was easy and price reasonable. Parking ample and Information Center and Gift Shop were very accommodating.

Convenient, except when you have children, as their tickets must be purchased on site. The problem with the Château de Chenonceau is that there are time slots when you buy tickets on site, so you're stuck waiting for 45 minutes...

We visited Château de Chambord in mid-October and couldn’t have asked for a more perfect experience. The weather was impeccable—crisp air, golden sunlight, and just enough warmth to enjoy the gardens without a jacket. Even better, the crowd level was surprisingly low, which made the entire visit feel peaceful and personal. We arrived around 12:30 PM and stayed until 3:30 PM, giving ourselves a generous 3 hours to explore. Realistically, you can plan for about 2.5 hours and still see the highlights without rushing. I highly recommend using the Histopad that lets you dive into the castle’s history at your own pace. It’s especially useful if you prefer a more flexible experience, as large guided groups tend to follow a fixed path and may skip areas you’d want to linger in. The castle itself is breathtaking, with its iconic double-helix staircase and panoramic rooftop views. The gardens and surrounding parkland are equally stunning—perfect for a stroll or a quiet moment to soak in the grandeur. Whether you're a history buff, architecture lover, or just looking for a serene escape, Chambord delivers. A must-visit gem !

The chateau is magnificent, the different rooms are very pretty but lack furniture. The sun was out, making the gardens even more pleasant.
