This fortress, a short distance from Vatican City, is lesser known than other Roman attractions, but well worth the visit. You begin by walking across the bridge of Angels, and the included audioguide is excellent. The biggest bonus - stunning views of Rome and Vatican City! I highly recommend it.

Did everything on the same day, no lines, and since it was raining, that was much appreciated. We even got in a bit before our scheduled time. I will definitely consider it again for future admissions.

We had no wait time. Unfortunately, the audio guide was somehow not in the right order, so it was a bit hard to follow. The best part was the view looking down from the top onto the Ponte Sant'Angelo. Overall, I thought there would be more to see. We finished the visit relatively quickly.

With the exhibitions inside, it was a journey through different cultures, from a cannonball to a frescoed ceiling, from a towering Angel to a prison to atone for real or alleged guilt...
