The outdoor pools are definitely the most picturesque, and the atmosphere is truly unique. I recommend arriving in the morning, especially if you want to enjoy the baths with a bit more peace and quiet, because they get quite crowded as the day goes on. It’s a good idea to bring flip-flops and a towel; the changing rooms are comfortable and well-organized. Entry with the ticket purchased through Headout was simple and hassle-free. Overall, it was a pleasant and unique experience, which I recommend including in your itinerary if you’re visiting Budapest.

The place is magnificent and I enjoyed a relaxing day there. I arrived at midday and there were no sunbeds left in the whole place, but I found a single (last!) chair which was very comfortable. I particularly enjoyed the beauty of the architecture and the yellow facades around the outside pool area. What I didn't like was that I had to pay an extra 10 Euros, as the regular tickets were sold out.

I took a cruise on the Danube and also visited the Széchenyi Thermal Baths. It was a great experience and I highly recommend it. The cruise was very pleasant and a lovely way to see Budapest from the water, and the thermal baths were just what we needed during the heat wave in Budapest. The indoor circuit is really long, and we loved the cold-water pools.

You don't need a swim cap, and you can bring your own swimwear, although there's a shop at the entrance that sells everything you need. No one explains where to go, or how the changing rooms and lockers work, and if there are signs, they aren't translated into English. The subway drops you off right at the door, and it’s very easy to get there. The thermal baths have lockers outside where you can leave your cell phones or money, since there’s a bar service on the terraces.

As of August 1, 2025, entry to the bath is not permitted for anyone under the age of 14.

The last entry is allowed up to one hour before closing, and all pools and surrounding areas must be vacated 20 minutes before closing time.

Wearing slippers in the spa area is mandatory for all guests.

The light sauna and the volcano sauna are temporarily out of service due to technical issues.
