Experience the sheer awe of sitting through a musical that is simply not afraid to tell a story filled with blatant male nudity. With an incredibly talented cast comprising six dashing men, this musical revue is a trip down American Vaudeville lane.
This hilarious musical first featured Off-Broadway in July 22, 1999. It was clear from the very beginning that ‘Naked Boys Singing!’ had the potential to become immensely popular due to its outright shocking and comical themes. After being revived at Theatre Row’s Kirk Theatre in mid-2012, the show has managed to run successfully for over 6 years. Directors Tom D’Angora and Michael Duling have steered the show to a groundbreaking success although the musical has absolutely no discernable plot.
The Story
‘Naked Boys Singing!’ holds nothing back when it comes to expressing emotions, ideas, and issues in their rawest form. From the very first tune (Gratuitous Nudity), the musical attempts to capture the more abstract aspects of ideas such as gay life, nudity, coming out, and love with characteristic comical immoderation. As a viewer, you will be thoroughly entertained and prodded to think about the general outlook on these ideas. While songs like “The Naked Maid” will leave you in fits of laughter, ‘Naked Boys Singing!’ proves that it can expertly tackle heavier themes like love with songs such as ‘Window to the Soul’. A show that is as unique as it is unrestrained about its means of expression, ‘Naked Boys Singing!’ is sure to be an evening well-spent.

The show is exactly what the title depicts. If you're easily offended by nudity, you're going to be seated in 90 minutes of hell! The show is otherwise cute and friendly - but be prepared to be flashed throughout the show.Raul

Yes, the performers are naked. NO it's not even close to sexual! It is light hearted fun and ridiculous most of the time. Don't hesitate in walking in for this one. My girlfriend and I had the time of our lives.Mary

It is commendable how the actors could all confidently sing naked and not show a hint of shyness on their faces. It does take a lot of courage! The show was funny and adorable, there was nothing odd about it. We had a great time for our friends' bachelorette!Ryan

Although awkward at first, you do tend to get used to watching the actors perform naked. The confidence and humour is striking! Something that I'll never understand. However, if you don't mind hour long nudity shoved into your face, this show will keep you laughing. Go for it with an open mind.Dennis
