    The story

On Día de los Muertos, Frida Kahlo is summoned from the underworld and crosses back into the living world to reunite briefly with Diego Rivera. Their encounter opens old wounds and rekindles old passions as they revisit love, loss, and the art that defined them. Inspired by the Orpheus myth, the opera balances tenderness with tumult as Frida confronts her past and Diego faces the limits of memory. Their time together is fleeting, and the farewell they share carries the full weight of a life lived boldly.
