A Tony-winning playwright, a claustrophobic motel, and a descent into paranoia, this acclaimed drama’s limited run is the talk of Broadway.

    • Pulitzer Prize winner Tracy Letts (August: Osage County) brings Bug to Broadway, sharpening its paranoia into a tightly wound psychological thriller.

    • Directed by David Cromer (Tony Award winner for The Band’s Visit), the staging keeps the action stripped back, forcing the tension to build in close quarters.

    • Tony-nominee Carrie Coon (Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?) returns to Broadway, grounding her role of Agnes with controlled intensity and emotional restraint.

    • With a limited run at Samuel J. Friedman Theatre, this production is praised for its fearless storytelling and edge-of-the-seat drama. Book your Bug Broadway tickets now!

    The story

Set in a seedy Oklahoma motel room, Bug follows Agnes, a lonely waitress, and Peter, a mysterious drifter. As their relationship intensifies, the line between reality and delusion blurs, spiraling into a world of paranoia, conspiracy, and unsettling intimacy. With violence, drug use, and psychological twists, the play keeps you guessing, are the bugs real, or is it all in their heads? The truth crawls closer with every scene, but you’ll have to see it to believe it.
