Wow wow wow. Amazing trip to the coluseum today. Entry was easy and smooth. Plenty of guys selling very cold water outside for a fair price. You won't be disappointed the coluseum is fantastic. All was going round my head was quite from the film gladiator. My name is Maximus Decimus Meridius, Commander of the Armies of the North, General of the Felix Legions, loyal servant to the true emperor, Marcus Aurelius. Great day trip to the zoo. We was there for around 3 and half to 4 hours. Just taking our time wandering around and seeing everything there was to be seen. We was grateful there was lots of places to go in the shade and as well as places to eat and drink there were some vending machines selling iced cold drinks and snacks if you wished to purchase some.

The excessive crowds coupled with the heat, made the experience less memorable than my previous visit 15 years ago. Also, the queue for the Palantine Hill and Forum adjacent to the Colosseum was exceptionally long even with the ticket. However, we had found another entrance with no queue further away from the Colosseum and entered at that point.

Admission was very quick, both at the Colosseum and the Roman Forum. The audio guide is of good quality and well recorded. But: it is not self-explanatory, especially in the Roman Forum, where which episode should be played. There was a lot going on at the Colosseum in particular, we were ushered through one way

The show is grandiose, the welcome superbly organized. But two comments: downloading the tickets was complicated, the audio guide was not in French, in fact nothing is written in French, which deprived us of many explanations - thanks to the Guide du Routard!

Excellent experience, the colosseum, the forum and the Palatine. I recommend organizing to go in two days ....al colosseum at the scheduled time and some other for the sgte. day as it is allowed. If you want to do it in one day , arrive early

Your tickets are timed so you must enter the Colosseum at the time slot selected at the time of booking.

If you choose an afternoon slot to visit the Colosseum, you will not have sufficient time to visit the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill on the same day. Should you wish to conclude your visit on the same day, please plan your visit to the Colosseum accordingly.

Note: Entry to the Colosseum is free on the first Sunday of every month.

REPTILARY: 60 minutes before the park closes

FELINI (lions, lynxes, leopards, tigers): 60 minutes before the park closes
