6 days ago4/5The activity itself was fun but a bit messy when it came to how things were organized. I ended up with a bunch of different staff coming over to help, which got confusing at times—for example, I was asked about my dominant hand, and then someone else used that to decide the engraving, but I had to say again which side was correct, and my chopsticks were engraved on the wrong side at first. They did fix it for me and didn’t charge extra, but the whole thing was more complicated than it needed to be. There were also lots of different instructions from people, so some folks (including me) got mixed up or had to redo steps because different staff swapped out all the time. It might be smoother if the same helper stuck with each group instead of switching. Also, it would help if they let us know about extra charges for some woods right away, instead of only mentioning it after you’ve picked one.5 days ago4/5Honestly, the activity itself was interesting, but the way the workshop was run got pretty confusing. I ended up talking to at least six different staff members in just one hour. That led to some mix-ups, like someone engraving my chopsticks on the wrong side because the info about my dominant hand got passed around weirdly. They did fix it for free, which was good, but the whole process should be much smoother. Instructions kept changing based on who you talked to, so lots of us got stuck or made mistakes. I’d suggest having one or two people stick with each table, instead of swapping all the time. Also, would be way better if they explained any extra charges for nicer wood before you choose, not after recommending something more expensive.4 days ago4/5Overall, it was a cool time but the whole workshop felt a little unorganized. Ended up getting passed between like six staff members in under an hour, which made things confusing. One person asked about my dominant hand, then someone else used that to do my engraving but got it switched, so it was on the wrong side. They did fix it for me at no extra charge, but it shouldn’t have been that complicated. Different staff also gave mixed directions on the steps, so it was easy for people to mess up or get confused when their helper swapped. Would be way smoother if one or two people just stuck with each table. Also, wish they’d told us upfront about extra charges for fancier woods, instead of after recommending them.Last week5/5We honestly had the best time crafting custom chopsticks at Chopstick Studio—this is one of the coolest things we did in Tokyo! The staff were super welcoming and made everything simple and relaxed for us. K really stood out, helping us a ton and giving us insider tips for places to eat and hang out nearby, which was awesome. I’m so glad we came home with such pretty handmade souvenirs and great stories. If you’re in Tokyo, you’ve gotta swing by. Totally worth it, I’d go back in a heartbeat!2 weeks ago5/5They have two shops, we found ours super easily. The one we picked is on the smaller side but still comfy. We showed up a bit late and it was no issue at all—they explained everything as we went along and chatted with us about Japan the whole time. The session itself isn’t pricey, though you do pay extra if you want fancy wood or engraving, but honestly it’s still a really neat and affordable thing to do. Definitely recommend it.
