What to bring

• Phone and browser: Bring a charged phone, since the tour runs in your phone browser with no app needed.
• Earphones: Bring earphones so you can listen to the audio comfortably as you walk.
• Connectivity: Use mobile data if you can, or open the tour on Wi-Fi before starting if you do not have data.
• Footwear: Wear shoes with a good grip, as the cobbled streets use rough, uncut stones.
• Water and sun protection: Carry water and sun protection because the highland sun is strong even when it is cool.

Accessibility

• Street surface: Expect cobbled streets with rough stones and narrow pavements along much of the route.
• Steep section: There is one steep cobbled climb of about twenty metres from Parque Juárez up to El Chorro.

• Tour start: Start the tour any day and at any hour, and replay it as often as you like.
• Best time of day: Walk in the morning between about 9:00 and noon for quieter streets and open churches.
• Parroquia hours: The Parroquia is open from 7:00 to 14:00 and from 16:00 to 21:00.
• Bellas Artes hours: Bellas Artes at stop 10 is free and opens Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00 to 18:00.
• Canal house hours: The Canal house at stop 11 is free Tuesday to Sunday 10:00 to 18:00, with free guided visits at set times.
• Canal house visits: Free guided visits run at 10:30, 12:30, and 16:30 at the Canal house.
• Casa de Allende museum: The Casa de Allende museum at stop 1 charges foreign visitors an entry fee.
• Public library hours: The public library at stop 9 opens Monday to Friday 10:00 to 17:00 and Saturday 10:00 to 14:00.
• Monday visits: Avoid Mondays if you want to go inside Bellas Artes or the Canal house, as they are closed.
• Season and weather: The dry season from October to April is most comfortable, and afternoon showers are common June to September.
• Altitude note: Take the climb from Parque Juárez slowly, as El Chorro sits at about 1,900 metres.
• Church etiquette: Treat churches as working churches, and if a service is on, visit quietly from the back or return later.
• Daylight advice: Walk the route in daylight for easier navigation and a better experience.
• Parque Juárez access: If Parque Juárez gates are shut, reach El Chorro by following Calle Diezmo Viejo around its edge.
• Traffic awareness: Share narrow cobbled lanes with cars and step aside when vehicles approach.
