What to expect

Mozart’s Salzburg city route

This experience turns Salzburg into your game board as you move through the city while learning about Mozart and the places connected with his story. You follow the in-app directions on foot, using the urban landscape and your screen to piece together the mystery of Mozart’s lost opera.

Features

• A self-guided city exploration game in the mobile app leads you from one location to the next, so you navigate the walking tour of Salzburg city sights without a physical tour guide. The self-guided city game in-app structure lets you decide the pace and keeps everything on your own device.
• Along the route, you engage in a mix of a tour, outdoor escape game, and treasure hunt, using clues in your surroundings to progress. Each correct answer or solved puzzle unlocks secret stories of each location as you solve challenges and answer questions.
• You step into the role of an aspiring pianist solving the mystery of Mozart’s lost opera, so the storyline with secret stories unlocked via challenges ties the stops together into a single narrative. This format turns ordinary corners of the city into parts of the investigation.
• The experience functions as a private tour with no crowds or contact, since you only interact with your phone and companions. It is available 24/7 with a flexible start time, which means you can start at any hour, take a break at any time, and resume later on the same walking tour of Salzburg city sights.
