In an atmosphere of pure emotion, the Veiled Christ is revealed to the spectators' eyes; the emotion and poignancy are so tangible. Under that marble veil, as light as a real veil, like a breath of fabric, one can glimpse all of Christ's suffering. Such masterly sculpture that you can't help but be left open-mouthed, yet in a solemn silence of devotion.

I visited the Sansevero Chapel on September 11th... it was amazing... I saw some incredible works of art and, besides the Veiled Christ which really impressed me, I was mesmerized by the sculpture behind it of the man tangled in a net... carved from a single block of marble... absolutely INCREDIBLE!!! Unfortunately, I don't have any photos to share because taking pictures is forbidden inside the chapel... I highly recommend it because it is worth every penny of the ticket price...

The visit to the Sansevero Chapel Museum in Naples was the most beautiful and interesting experience we had in Naples. Access was quick and easy, and the staff at the entrance were polite and helpful. The girl inside the museum answered my questions and explained aspects of the history of this masterpiece that I didn't know. An unforgettable visit. The chapel is small but holds a priceless treasure. The realism of the sculpture is impressive; you can see the details of the face and body beneath the marble sheet. In addition to the sculpture of the Veiled Christ, every statue and detail of the church deserves attention! The staff is friendly, and remember that booking is mandatory.

The experience inside the Chapel of St. Severus was simply wonderful. We made our reservation about a week before the event without any problems. I thought I’d have to shell out an exorbitant amount. Instead, the price is affordable for all budgets. The event started right on time. Unfortunately, you’re not allowed to take photos or record videos. At the end of the tour, I was able to buy some postcards to preserve a memory of this event. The Veiled Christ is astonishing. The Disinganno is perhaps even more so. The anatomical models on the lower level of the chapel are also worth noting. I recommend this experience to everyone.

The Sansevero Chapel was transformed in the 18th century by Prince Raimondo di Sangro into a family memorial filled with elaborate sculptures, coded imagery, and experimental ideas.

Veiled Christ: Stand before Giuseppe Sanmartino’s marble sculpture and examine how the carved veil appears to cling to Christ’s body while remaining part of the same block of stone.

Disillusion: See Francesco Queirolo’s sculpture of a man freeing himself from a finely carved net, an allegory associated with knowledge and liberation.

Modesty: Admire Antonio Corradini’s veiled figure, created as a memorial to Raimondo di Sangro’s mother.

Anatomical Machines: View the male and female skeletons accompanied by detailed representations of veins, arteries, and internal circulation.

Symbolic interior: Look across the chapel’s floor, ceiling, monuments, and decorative details while uncovering themes of virtue, mortality, and enlightenment.

What’s not allowed

Consumption of food and drinks is not permitted.

Photography is strictly prohibited inside the chapel.

Accessibility

The chapel is not completely wheelchair accessible. A narrow spiral staircase leading to a room comprising the anatomical models is not ideal for the disabled.

Additional notes

Pets, with the exception of service animals, are not allowed inside the chapel.

There is no formal dress code but we recommend wearing modest clothes since the attraction is a place of worship.

Infants from 0-9 years of age get free access to the chapel while those between 10-26 years of age enjoy reduced ticket rates.
