The David was incredible. I'd made an effort not to look at the copy before I came, and I'm pleased that I could see it so close up. I'm not a huge art fan but this is the one thing I wanted to see. The audio guide isn't that good. It's ok if you can find the art they are referring to, but we spent the afternoon hunting for the ones in the guide- surely the guide should say something like "and on the left you will see...." I got the collect outside tickets, we were early and there was no one in the square. Then when a man with a handful of papers arrived (not by the white flag as I'd been told) I was worried that it might be a con. The tickets are just photocopies cut up. It's not a con but it did feel like one- so maybe they need to consider how professional this part is.

Unfortunately, I had a text the night before telling me we would have to pay for the entry tickets as we had only paid for the tour. This was very perplexing but when we went to the meeting place, we were not asked for more money and were in time to join the group 15 mins before our booked time. Our guide led us straight in past the queue. He spent the whole hour talking about 'David' and the other sculptures nearby with incredible details about Michelangelo and what you can see from each side of David. We were all mesmerised by his calm delivery and even though it was crowded inside, he led us around to little areas where we could see perfectly. It was well worth having the talk as I believe I gained so much than just information.

A lovely and intimate venue compared to the size of the Uffizi gallery, whichvwe also enjoyed. Very high ceilings and beautiful lighting. We prepurchased our tickets to avoid lineups at the Accademie. It was going to be 28 Euros for a self-guided tour and we took advantage of a time-of-day discount (32.50 euros total) for a fully guided tour for a dozen of us. I cannot express clearly enough how valuable our guide was to our experience. Rafael, associated with one of the many on-line groups, was easy to find and we entered right on time. We walked past 100 to 200 people in line waiting for tickets. His coverage of what we were seeing was invaluable and ended the DAVID walk around with a surprising revelation.

Both sites are a MUST in Florence. Purchasing a combo makes it easy and a bit more cost effective. David is even more impressive in person than any photos you have seen. I went crazy for all the marble with stone accents at the Ufizzi; it also has many famous paintings. And you can take all the time you want to inspect each one. I would return for several more hours.

Absolutely incredible to see such significant and historic works of art. The buildings are just as incredible as the artworks too! Highly recommend visiting both Academia and Uffizi with a combo ticket. The app worked really well to show at both venues too.

Avoid the long lines and the crowded entrance! Acquisitioning the tickets was seemless. We were able to skip right into one of the most celebrated museums in Florence if not in the world. We arrived early and enjoyed much of the art without crowds of people around. Highly recommend.

This was amazing galleria! Easy to get around in, was a bit crowded but nothing that was overwhelming. Got to see everything we wanted to see. Could probably go back if we had time. Tickets were also easy to get.
