What better way to explore a city than through its authentic culinary roots? This food tour will send your taste buds to heaven no matter what your tastes and preferences are! Your 3 and a half hour tour shall begin at the Old Jewish Ghetto, a neighborhood that is famously known for its food. Meet the rest of your group and your local expert who shall take you on a journey worth savoring! With smaller tour groups of 12 people, this gives you the added bonus of being able to get up close and personal with Roman cuisine. After your quick introductory session, you will leave the ghetto and head to an artisanal cheese shop for a tasting of the famous Pecorino Romano and other Italian cheeses complemented with a glass of local white wine.
Afterwards, you shall head to an iconic deli where you will try the local favorite, deep-fried rice balls called supplì with a glass of Italian craft beer. You will also learn that Italians are quite passionate about their brews. It is one of the many surprising food revelations on this immersive tour. Then you will make your way to a mouth watering charcuterie where you will try their famous salami with fennel, which is known and loved in Rome. This shall be accompanied by another glass of wine; a traditional red produced in the region. Shortly after a quick olive oil and balsamic vinegar tasting, you get to play chef at a local pizzeria. Immerse yourself in a Masterclass with our experts as they teach you all you need to know about Roman and Neapolitan pizzas.
End your tour on a sweet note with some lovely Italian gelato as you stroll through the charming Roman streets with your guide as they give you some tips on how to differentiate between regular ice cream and traditional gelato.
