I loved the experience of the dinner cruise. The window view was an added bonus. The Natchez was to be our boat, but, the AC went out. We had to change ships last minute. You were to be able to board early, so, we got there early, only to have to wait until our dinner time to board. We did get to go to the front of the line because my mom had a walker and elderly, but, I hated the late boarding dug into our dinner time and we had to get up before ready so the next time, 7:15, could eat.

Line up, boarding, checking tickets... everything flowed beautifully. Our table was ready and our waitress was happy to explain all for us. Salad, appetizer , drinks, thru the buffet was delicious New Orleans quality. Service & entertainment was great. The tour was so pleasant. All decks were easily accessible to find the right seating to music and sunset. Fellow passengers even assisted with picture taking

Very efficient boarding process. Wonderful music and pleasant staff. Food was good, not great. We had fantastic weather and were able to move around the boat freely and take a lot of pictures. Overall, had a very nice time.

What truly made this experience so memorable was the entire crew were so inviting, courteous and exceptionally professional. The Steamboat looked to be very well maintained because all the railing and painted surfaces were very glossy and elegant. Everyone dressed as the description in the ad for the cruise which made it that more elegant. The dining quarters and staff are outstanding and the food was superb! The navigation of the waterway and the narration was very safe, educational and informative. Let me tell about the band that played that awesome jazz music for our entertaining enjoyment, if they're not already they will should be world renowned. But what I really appreciate and applaud EVERYONE on the cruise of Oct 19th 2025 for being wonderful shipmates that showed decency, courtesy, respect and friendship to one another with taken pics when sometimes a selfie was a little difficult to get that perfect pic. And to all my friends saying "hey there go my new friend" as we passed one another walking deck to deck, hello again and I wish you all well ❤️

What to Bring

Shirts and shoes are a must for all cruises. If you're joining the Dinner Jazz Cruise, opt for “dressy casual.” Skip the jeans and go for dress pants, a skirt, or a nice blouse. Guys, a collared shirt—button-down or polo—adds a polished touch.

This is a smoke-free cruise. Smoking is not allowed anywhere on the boat, inside or out.

Additional Information

Both the Steamboat NATCHEZ and Riverboat CITY of NEW ORLEANS will alternate departures depending on scheduling needs and private events until March 2026, when they’ll adopt individual timetables. Either way, you'll still enjoy two hours of live jazz, cocktails, and Crescent City charm—best experienced from the top deck of your steamboat.

Boarding starts 1 hour before departure, so get there on time for a relaxed check-in.
