This was a fantastic experience--I booked this to celebrate my engagement while in New Orleans for a weekend with my fiancee. We did not participate in the dinner, but I appreciated that we were still able to go inside the dining rooms and order from the bars in there if we wished. The steamboat and views are quite romantic, highly recommend!

The captain speaking throughout the tour was very informative about the history of the Th Natchez and the points of interest along the way. The steady power woth the jazz music playing in the background made for a relaxing day out on the Mississippi.

The music played by the Duke Heitger and the steamboat stompers was just amazing, such a good vibe. The food was very tasty and the views of the city were beautiful. The whole thing was amazing.

The jazz music band is very entertaining during the cruise. Learn a lot from the history narrator. Space is good for viewing the river tour. The gift and souvenier shop is nice.

Cruise the mighty Mississippi for two hours, with live jazz, signature drinks, and incredible New Orleans scenery—especially from the newly enhanced top deck. After a brief introduction, you’re free to explore the vessel and settle in for departure.

What to expect

This vessel continues the tradition of classic river cruising, offering a unique perspective on New Orleans’ riverfront and history.

What to bring

Shirts and shoes are required on all cruises. While casual attire is fine, we recommend you turn up in “dressy casual” for the Dinner Jazz Cruise. Switch your jeans for some dress pants or a skirt and a blouse or a stylish top. Men can zhuzh it up with a collared shirt (button-down or polo).

This vessel is completely non-smoking, including all indoor areas and outer decks.

Additional Information

Depending on demand and private events, the Steamboat NATCHEZ and Riverboat CITY of NEW ORLEANS will operate interchangeably until March 2026, when both vessels begin running separate schedules. You’ll still enjoy the same two-hour river journey, complete with traditional live jazz, craft cocktails, and beautiful city views. Don’t forget to head up to the top deck for the best lookout point.
