This was our 1st time on the Natchez, after living here our entire lives. It did not disappoint. Not sure what took us so long. We enjoyed every minute. Everyone was very polite & very knowledgable. We were greeted from the time of boarding to disembarkment. The food was excellent, & being that it was buffet style, allowed us to try a little bit of everything. Storytelling / commentary throughout the cruise was very enjoyable to listen to. Nice commentary voice the gentleman had. This was such a fun way to experience New Orleans from the Mississippi river. The lights at night were spectacular. We definitly recommend the Steamboat Natchez to everyone visiting, or, that just took way to long go, like we did. You will not be disappionted. We did the cruise with diner, this is a must. They do have snacks like hotdogs, nachos ect, but why do that when you can get a bunch of New Orleans cuisine with the ride. Thanks for having us, we will be back soon.

I'm glad for the opportunity to take this cruise with my coworker during a work conference. The dinner was quintessential New Orleans, gumbo starter, a wonderful buffet spread of surfaces and turf, with a cheesecake dessert. We got the 6pm dinner and then went upstairs to the top deck for the amazing sunset views as the steamboat chugged off. The voice over was informative without being intrusive and then the Dukes Jazz band became the center of attraction drawing lots of energy to the dance floor. I missed my usual partner but enjoyed watching others spin it. A great time was had for sure. Thanks for hosting.

When we bought tickets, we were hoping to have a great experience and the Natchez did not disappoint. Exceptionally well run operation. Boarding was fast and efficient. Dinner service, the same. All the food was delicious, hot, and plentiful. Drinks were strong and fairly priced. Narration by the Captain was charming and entertaining. The ride down the river was just long enough to have a nice evening, but not too long and not too short. Would certainly recommend to all family and friends visiting New Orleans.

The cruise was wonderful. We sat on the deck, enjoying the view, listening to the history, and being entertained by excellent jazz musicians. The view of the sun setting over the New Orleans skyline was spectacular.

I was impressed with that the dinner seating was very organized and efficient with that many people. The food had a variety of flavors and servers were very friendly! I'd definitely recommend the sunset time.

Dinner was delicious and great service! Loved the live jazz band that played all evening! Beautiful river and sunset and great information provided for nearby sights. Would highly recommend!

Everything went smoothly, starting with the boarding process. Passengers board onto the se cond (middle) floor. I noticed most passengers immediately went to the top floor of the steamboat (we were on the Natchez), so we decided to go down to the first level and I'm glad we did because the bar was empty and we got great seats on the deck. There was also a narrator sharing information about the steamboat, and historical facts about the area. As for the dinner, they offer two dining times. We liked the latter time because we were able to enjoy the scenic trip with the sunset, then finish the cruise with the dinner. The wait staff was attentive and friendly. There was a lot of food to try, which I had to try a little of everything, and it was all delicious. If you're visiting New Orleans, make time to take a dinner cruise. Considering the local cost at restaurants, the dinner cruise is only a little more and the experience is worth it!

Meal, buffet style, was decent. Wait staff outstanding...very attentive and helpful. Even though there were some 500 people on the boat, it was a friendly crowd. Enjoyed our cruise down to river (wish we could have gone further) with a jazz band playing. Captain(or someone) gave a nice highlight of sights along the way.
  • What to Bring

    • Shirts and shoes are a must for all cruises. If you're joining the Dinner Jazz Cruise, opt for “dressy casual.” Skip the jeans and go for dress pants, a skirt, or a nice blouse. Guys, a collared shirt—button-down or polo—adds a polished touch.

    What’s Not Allowed

    • This is a smoke-free cruise. Smoking is not allowed anywhere on the boat, inside or out.

    Accessibility

    • The cruise is fully wheelchair and stroller accessible.

    • Guide dogs are more than welcome aboard.

    Additional Information

    • Both the Steamboat NATCHEZ and Riverboat CITY of NEW ORLEANS will alternate departures depending on scheduling needs and private events until March 2026, when they’ll adopt individual timetables. Either way, you'll still enjoy two hours of live jazz, cocktails, and Crescent City charm—best experienced from the top deck of your steamboat.

    • Boarding starts 1 hour before departure, so get there on time for a relaxed check-in.

    • If you're 21 or older, you can grab your beverages at the counter. Bring along your photo ID with birthdate, as required by Louisiana law.

    • Your voucher will be emailed to you instantly.

    • Display the voucher on your mobile phone with a valid photo ID at the redemption point.

    • Please arrive at the redemption point 15 mins before the scheduled time of your visit to avoid any delays.

    Ticket redemption point

    • Redeem your ticket at Steamboat NATCHEZ.

    • Address: 400 Toulouse St, New Orleans, LA 70130, United States.
