Quinta da Regaleira is an absolute must-see, especially for those who love mysterious and mystical places. However, be sure to set aside extra time for the journey. We were late for our appointment due to a fire on the road and the resulting traffic. Sintra is a small town with very narrow streets, and since it was impossible for our cab to take an alternative route, we had to hike downhill and then back uphill. Even though we missed our scheduled entrance time, the staff was kind enough to let us in anyway. You need at least 3 hours to fully see and enjoy the park and the castle. If you have the time, I also highly recommend visiting Biester Palace; it is very close to Quinta da Regaleira and easy to see on the same day.

The visit to Quinta da Regaleira was not only a wonderful tour but a truly immersive experience among all the attractions it offers: from the palace to the gardens, from the caves to the towers. The sites are all well-maintained and clearly marked; they are easily accessible and intuitive to navigate. The highlight of this complex is undoubtedly the Initiation Well. There is a single entrance where the tour continues down a flight of stairs until you reach the bottom, where you’ll find a small waterfall and a cave. The gardens feature diverse vegetation and beautiful flowers that line the entire path.

Visiting Quinta da Regaleira was simply the absolute highlight of my trip! Getting in was a breeze, and the wait was surprisingly short. As soon as I stepped onto the grounds, I was captivated by the beautiful, mystical park landscape. I was particularly impressed by the winding tunnels and mysterious caves, it feels like you’re in another world. The Initiation Fountain was the absolute highlight. I can truly recommend this place to anyone who wants to experience something special.

Got there 15 minutes early and were allowed to enter, which was perfect because we accidently bought for the wrong time. Got to the initiation well and although greeted by a line, the only line we experienced, it went by quickly and we were down the stairwell, mesmerized by the design and construction (and some wet feet). Definitely worth the visit. Please book your tickets online as people were being turned away due to it being sold out.

Today was my birthday and I wanted to feel like I was in a fairy tale. And so it was. Access was fast, the Fountain of Initiation charged me with a special energy, the gardens and the palace impressed me! First of all, I felt that spring is here and that warmed my soul. Spectacular historical monument and beautiful garden. Thank you for your work on preservation! Crowd was okay Check in was smooth Time slot restriction was stressful. We showed up at 9:45 am for 10 am entry but still see people with 9:30 got let in up till 10. We could have walk up instead of taking the bus up

Built in the 8th century and soon taken over by the Christians after the fall of Lisbon in 1147, every aspect of the Moorish Castle speaks of its centuries-long history. From its most prominent feature, the castle walls, to the watchtower, the museum, and the interpretation centre, the Moorish Castle has a lot to offer.
