Definitely worth it! If you go on foot, towards both places as I did, be prepared to have sore muscles the next day 😉 At the Moorish castle, it's a lot of clamping, a lot of stair climbing, but trust me, it's more than worth it! It is beautiful! At Quinta da Regaleira it is a lot of walking because it is big, also hilly, so definitely not just flat. The "well" where you would come out as reborn.... I expected a lot from it in the sense that you could walk down for a while quietly.... However, you "have to" keep walking, because if you stand still for too long to have a look or take good pictures, someone will call you to keep walking.... That's kind of a shame. However, it is beautiful there!

The place is beautiful! I highly recommend visiting Quinta de la Regaleira. Quite a lot of hassle around the experience: getting there and back in overcrowded bus was a strain (the bus back takes a huge detour on roads not designed for large buses and that can't easily cross with trafic going the other way, windy roads and driver not considerate of people standing). Entry time: we were one hour early and they wouldn't let us in earlier, so we ended up having to hang around and there is no cafe near the entrance! Lots and lots lf walking, was not prepared for this, no map was given at the entrance. In short, the place is beautiful, but the people managing the visitors experience have a lot of improvements to make!

The Quinta da Regaleira is no ordinary palace, but a journey into a world full of myths and secrets. Between the enchanted paths, the grottos and the famous initiation fountain, you can sense that this place is more than just architecture - it is symbolism cast in stone and nature. The neo-Gothic manor house sits enthroned like a fairytale castle, while the gardens with hidden lakes, secret tunnels and exotic plants invite you to explore. If you take your time, it is easy to get lost in the labyrinth of paths and imagination. A visit here is not just an excursion, but an experience that will stay with you for a long time.

I had an amazing day visiting Pena Palace and the Moorish Castle. The weather was fantastic, which made exploring even more enjoyable. I had a timed entry for Pena Palace at 11 o’clock, and the whole process was incredibly well organised. The queues were managed efficiently, making the visit smooth and stress-free. The palace itself is breathtaking, with its vibrant colours, whimsical architecture, and stunning views. Even with a bit of mist and fog, the atmosphere was magical, adding a mysterious charm that made it feel like stepping into a fairytale. Every corner offered incredible photo opportunities and the attention to detail throughout the palace is remarkable. Afterward, I explored the Moorish Castle and walked all around its walls, soaking in the panoramic views of Sintra and the surrounding landscape. It was a fantastic experience, very well worth the money, and I would highly recommend both attractions to anyone visiting the area.

We went at 2 in the afternoon, it was perfect, as it is a spacious place you can hardly feel it. The line for the initiation well was long but very fast, and totally worth it. A mix of everything, shafts, murals, towers, vegetation, castle and secret tunnels. It was my favorite. It even has amenities like a cafeteria and restrooms. Not to be missed.

Amazing history. Great view from the top of the Moorish Castle. Pena Palace crowd control worked well, and the bus to the top was a welcome teat after climbing to the top of the Moorish Castle.
