The queue was quite long, but it was absolutely worth it. The highlight of my trip so far, and I was already thrilled beforehand. A beautiful park with something to marvel at all day long. From the initiation site to the grottos and the many little towers... Simply amazing! The castle is also beautiful from the outside. Inside, I particularly liked the furniture and wooden ceilings.

If there is one site when visiting Lisbon I'd make the effort to see above all it would be this. Quinta da regaleira is quite unlike any garden I have ever seen, with its incredible lush planting, giant tree ferns, eucalyptus one is transported into an otherworldly magical environment full of hidden grottoes, underground tunnels and caverns and of course the remarkable well of initiation. Amazing.

And what can I say about the architecture, except that the craftsmen were real magicians, so splendid is it between the colors of the stones used and the forms of Moresque, Christian style... We came to visit in December. The weather was very nice and it was not crowded at all . It is absolutely beautiful and I'm so glade we came. Some of the hills you have to climb can be rough for someone with mobility issues so please keep that in mind. An absolute,ustmsee while in Portugal.

Built in the 8th century and soon taken over by the Christians after the fall of Lisbon in 1147, every aspect of the Moorish Castle speaks of its centuries-long history.
