  • Popularly known as the Zoo, the Capital Zoo and Botanical Garden is the oldest zoo in Hungary and one of the oldest in the world and is home to the largest collection of animals and plants. Marvel at the wildlife present from all over the globe at this zoo which has been operational for 150 years. The diversity of the natural world displayed in the Capital Zoo and Botanical Garden is vast from butterflies to carnivores plants.

    Spread across 18 hectares of land, the Zoo features various zones such as The Magical Hill, America Tropicana, Savannah Zone, Australia Zone, India Zone, János Xántus House, and Primates Near-at-Hand. Some of the rare species that you may come across are the Komodo Dragon and the Wombat. Fun fact: a giraffe was donated by Queen Elizabeth to the Zoo.
