Well organised trip to Delphi from Athens. The tour guide Mariganna was great, she was friendly and very knowledgeable. The Delphi site is incredible, I went at the end of June it was approx 35 degrees, there's a steady but steep incline to the top, so take plenty of water and sensible footwear as the marble steps can be quite slippery. I opted to have the lunch included, we had a 3 course meal in a traditional Greek restaurant in Arachova, the food was great, fresh local produce. I would recommend to include the lunch on this trip. It was a long day, but i would recommend it. I would suggest you also need a good level of fitness as the walk while your in Delphi would be too much for people with walking difficulties

Alessia was an excellent tour guide. She provided just the right amount of information along the tour, was incredibly cognizant about stopping in the shade and taking water breaks because it was 40°C and was persistent about respecting the shared space whilst always getting us to the best view points along the acropolis. She made the tour incredibly enjoyable for us. The only complaint we have is about the Key Tours logistics themselves. In the know before you go it suggested we were doing a self guided tour via our own headphones with an app that needed to be downloaded, yet we had a lovely tour guide and were provided with all of the equipment. It didn't impact our experience but it might for others.

Pre-booking the tickets saved us a great deal of team was very easy to book it with headout. We decided to an afternoon trip to see the Acropolis and the Acropolis museum, we didn't have to wait long to get in which was fantastic. Plenty of seats to rest as you go up, definitely have comfortable shoes, water and take your time going up as there is plenty to see. When you get to the top although there was a bit of a crowd most people were respectful and actually helped each other including taking photos for each other. Amazing view of the city. The museum is amazing again well curated. The roof top café in the the museum was amazing you a wonderful view of Acropolis and it's reasonable priced.

It was breathtaking. The history, the view of Athens. I loved the museum as well. There's so much rich history in Athens and I was happy to be able to experience some of it.

As someone deeply passionate about Ancient Greek history and mythology, visiting the Acropolis was nothing short of a pilgrimage. Arriving in the early evening offered a perfect balance: the golden light cast a soft, almost divine glow across the Parthenon and surrounding ruins, bringing the myths I’ve long studied vividly to life. The crowds were definitely present — a testament to the site’s global significance — but they didn’t feel overwhelming. There was enough space to pause, reflect, and even hear your own thoughts as you gazed over Athens, imagining the philosophers, poets, and gods who once filled these same hills with ideas and legends. Whether you’re a devoted classicist or just curious about Greece’s ancient heart, I can’t recommend the early evening slot enough. The light, the breeze, the energy — it all makes the Acropolis feel not like a ruin, but a living piece of history.

  • From the Acropolis to the Ancient Agora, see Athens’ most legendary sites with a guided tour or explore at your own pace with a multilingual audio guide.

    Getting started

Your visit begins at the Acropolis, where you’ll either meet your guide at the designated entry point or start your self-guided tour with an audio guide. If you’ve chosen a guided tour, your expert will introduce the site's history before leading you through this ancient citadel.

    What to expect

    The Acropolis

Walk through the Propylaea, the grand gateway to the Acropolis, and soak in sweeping views of Athens. Explore the Parthenon, the crown jewel of classical Greece, as you learn about its construction, famous sculptures, and how it evolved over time.

Visit the Erechtheion, known for its elegant Caryatid columns, and the Temple of Athena Nike, dedicated to the goddess of victory. Your guide (or audio tour) will share the myths behind these temples, including Athena and Poseidon's legendary rivalry for Athens.

Head down to the Theater of Dionysus, the birthplace of Greek drama, where ancient playwrights once staged their works. Stop by the Odeon of Herodes Atticus, a Roman amphitheater still hosting performances today.

    Acropolis Museum (optional)

Upgrade your ticket to explore artifacts from the Acropolis, including the original Caryatids, the Parthenon Marbles, and the Frieze of the Parthenon. Visit the museum’s underground excavation, where an ancient Athenian neighborhood is preserved beneath glass floors.

    Old Town (Plaka) (optional)

Opt for an Athens Old Town audio guide to explore Plaka’s historic streets, Byzantine churches, and local tavernas while learning about the city’s evolution.
