A timely play that brings together iconic director and playwright David Mamet and enigmatic actor John Malkovich, Bitter Wheat is the most relevant play of the season, based on the Harvey Weinstein scandal that sent shockwaves through Hollywood and spurred the start of the #MeToo Movement in 2018.
- In the light of the Harvey Weinstein scandal that rocked the Hollywood film industry and, essentially, the world, last year, comes this new play from acclaimed writer and director David Mamet (writer of plays such as Speed-the-Plow and Glengarry Glen Ross and screenplays such as The Verdict, Wag the Dog and Hannibal). Starring the enigmatic actor John Malkovich, who was last seen in the Sandra Bullock-starrer Bird Box, this show is the coming together of extremely pressing issues, helmed by a writer and actor who have proven their mettle time and again. - The Story- Bitter Wheat is the story of Barney Fein, a character based on Harvey Weinstein, the now-infamous producer and Hollywood mogul who was accused of rape, sexual assault and sexual misconduct in 2018 by over 100 women. The story details the downfall of one of the most powerful men in the entertainment industry that led to the start of an extremely important movement geared towards exposing the truth and female empowerment. - Good for- Fans of John Malkovich | David Mamet Fans | Lovers of Socially Relevant Stories - Critics Reviews- Not released yet.
