Why Watch Waitress
Based on the 2007 movie, Waitress became a Broadway hit, having been nominated several times for the Tony Award. Waitress, the musical, completes its third year on Broadway. It will be the first time that a musical with an all-female creative team will feature on the West End - and the message about women's empowerment also hits the stage. The chemistry between the main characters is exciting and helps to understand the friendship between women.
After debuting on Broadway in 2016, the musical was nominated for 4 Tony Awards, 6 Drama Desk Awards and 4 Outer Critics' Circle Awards. The orchestration is signed by six times Grammy nominee Sara Bareilles and has won the hearts of critics and audiences. Her dynamic songs and idyllic lyrics impact anyone who wants to get out of the monotony of daily life routine. The confluence of pop-rock ballads and the choir reaches perfection. Bareilles won a nomination for Tony in her debut and Waitress was nominated in the Best Musical category. Director Diane Paulus was praised for her leadership skills and also for being able to create intimate and personal moments in a delicate way.
