The lower Belvedere is somewhat disappointing. It is not worth a visit. The exhibits are not of high quality. The restaurant located in the upper Belvedere is very expensive and with little variety. The waiter forces you to pay tips and was rude.

I loved that my tour was private yet escorted, that I ate dinner in a palace and topped it off with a glass of sparkling wine at a classical concert with opera singers. It doesn't get any better than this!

We went early so managed to see The Kiss with very few other folk about, an hour later it was rammed, so go early. I love Klimt so wasn't disappointed.

Klimt artwork was wonderful, as were other artwork from various masters. However, it was a very cold, windy weather outside and cruel to force patrons to remain outside under these harsh conditions without proper shelter to comply with timed entry to the minute. Not a recommended visit when weather is poor.

Both the exhibits and the structure itself. Unfortunately, it was raining heavily and we could not enjoy the beautiful gardens. Audio guide not included in the ticket price, but which I highly recommend to understand the works.

A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Belvedere Palace is also the site of the Austrian State Treaty. Consisting of two palaces, the Upper and Lower Belvedere, and extensive gardens the unique complex is one of the world's most supreme specimens of a Baroque architectural ensemble.

The Upper Belvedere

For an artistic retreat, the Upper Belvedere is the perfect getaway! The Upper Belvedere is one of the most prominent museums across the globe, with famous art collections dating back to the Middle Ages. Highlights include the world's largest collection of Gustav Klimt paintings (including The Kiss and Judith), famous works from the periods of Austrian Baroque, French Impressionism, Viennese Biedermeier, and from Vienna around 1900. You can also admire works by Austrian artists like Rueland Frueauf the Elder, Elena Luksch-Makowsky, and Helene Funke, apart from international artists like Vincent van Gogh, Claude Monet, and Auguste Rodin.

The Lower Belvedere

Calling all history lovers, the Lower Belvedere is a treasure trove that will take you back in time! Located in Vienna, the majestic Lower Belvedere Palace is a magnificent 18th-century structure that now serves as an exhibition center. Focusing on Austrian artists within an international context and showcasing pivotal works of Western art history, this UNESCO World Heritage Site was originally built for the diplomat and collector Prince Eugene of Savoy to admire his exceptional Baroque architecture collection. Opt for the direct entry ticket to either Upper or Lower Belvedere Palace, to save time and choose what you'd like to see.
