Main Entrance (Szent István tér)
Located directly on Szent István Square, this is the primary entrance for all visitors. It faces the lively pedestrian plaza and is easily identified by the grand staircase and twin bell towers. The entrance is fully wheelchair accessible via a ramp to the right of the main steps, and wide doors allow for easy entry with strollers or mobility aids. Multilingual guide pamphlets are available just inside.
Dome & Panorama Terrace Entrance
Access to the dome and panoramic terrace is through a dedicated side entrance to the right of the main façade (look for signage near the ticket office). This entrance leads to the elevator and spiral staircase for the dome climb. The elevator is suitable for visitors with limited mobility, but please note it accommodates only four people at a time, so short waits may occur during busy periods.
Treasury & Holy Right Relic Entrance
Entry to the treasury and the Holy Right Hand relic is via the main nave, with access controlled by ticket. The treasury area is located within the basilica and is accessible for most visitors, though some sections may have low lighting and a few steps. Staff are available to assist if needed.
Regular Hours: The basilica is open Monday to Saturday from 9:00am to 5:45pm, and on Sundays with limited entry (typically after 1:00pm due to morning mass).
Dome & Panorama Terrace: Open daily from 9:00am to 7:00pm.
Treasury: Follows main basilica hours.
Last Entry: Final admission is 15 minutes before closing for all areas.
Special Closures: The basilica may close partially or fully during religious services, weddings, or on major holidays (such as Easter and Christmas).
Multilingual audio guides are available for a small fee at the entrance or ticket office.
A souvenir shop is located near the entrance, offering religious items, books, and keepsakes.
Toilets are available for visitors, including facilities near the dome terrace and main entrance.
