The tour of the Spanish Riding School was definitely one of the highlights of our visit to Vienna. We were particularly impressed by the blend of history, architecture, and the fascinating behind-the-scenes insights. The magnificent rooms and ceilings alone were well worth seeing, but the stables and the many details about the Lipizzaner horses also made the tour special. Our guide, Martin, led the tour with a wealth of knowledge, humor, and enthusiasm. You could tell he’s truly passionate about the subject, and that’s exactly what made the entire tour so lively and interesting. Another little highlight was the two stable cats, who even let us pet them—we really didn’t expect that 😄 All in all, a perfectly organized and varied tour that we’d do again in a heartbeat. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Vienna!

An entertaining and interesting look inside the Vienna Riding School, as long as you’re not there for a performance. Our tour guide was great. The horses seemed to have gotten used to the constant hustle and bustle and appeared relaxed and uninterested. Another plus was the rule against hugging and kissing the horses—with the exception of the stable cats.
