Two reef destinations in one day

Short on time? This 9-hour cruise from Cairns combines an outer reef pontoon with a rainforest island stop.

What to expect

Spend about 2.5 hours at Moore Reef Pontoon on the Outer Great Barrier Reef. Snorkelling equipment, a Lycra suit and snorkel instruction and assistance are included here, with a kids’ snorkel training area for beginners. Prefer to stay dry? Take the glass-bottom boat or semi-submersible tour (conditions permitting), visit the underwater observatory, ride the 30-metre waterslide or relax on the sundeck. A marine presentation with fish feeding is held at Moore Reef.

Then cruise to Fitzroy Island for a premium buffet lunch at Zephyr’s Restaurant, Fitzroy Island Resort, followed by about 1.5 hours of free time to explore the rainforest-fringed coral beaches and self-guided National Park walks. Snorkelling equipment is not provided at Fitzroy Island.

Upgrades

Choose the Seawalker option to walk the seabed with no swimming experience needed (minimum age 12; medical questionnaire applies; subject to medical and safety requirements). Guided snorkel tours can be booked on board.
