What an amazing experience! You will not be disappointed. Use the Audi guide that you download on your phone when you enter. NO PROBLEM if you don't want to do this. The same information is provided as you make your way around this amazing historical experience . The narration brings this experience to life. The experience unravels more and more as you work your way round. Make sure you complete the entire visit to feel the entire life of the crew aboard. Listen out for intermittent talks by some amazing characters sharing their experiences of the past

An incredible journey through the history of the UK and maritime adventures, brought vividly to life through the stories of sailors and the beautifully preserved artifacts like the iconic Cutty Sark! We were also fortunate to be welcomed by lively shanty singers, adding to the atmosphere. Concluding our visit, we enjoyed a delicious brownie at the dry dock, making for a truly memorable experience.

First time I have used Headout. No problem and a £6 saving over direct entry . Cutty Sark was interesting but may seem expensive as not a huge amount to see, say compared to Warrior in Portsmouth.

Good visit, lovely day. I would rank H&S Belfast in London and HMS Warrior in Portsmouth as more interesting ships to visit

Begin your visit at the main entrance of the Cutty Sark, where your ticket will be validated. Make sure you download the free audio tour beforehand to guide your journey through the ship.

What to expect

Cutty Sark

Launched in 1869, the Cutty Sark is a celebrated British landmark and the last remaining tea clipper from the great age of sail. This vessel once raced across oceans, carrying tea from China to London at record speed.

Features

Main deck and rigging: Walk the teak decks and see the towering masts that made the Cutty Sark one of the fastest ships of her time.

Captain’s quarters: Step inside the restored living spaces to glimpse the daily life of officers and crew during long voyages.

Ship’s hull: Stand beneath the sleek copper hull, an engineering marvel designed for speed and now suspended for visitors to admire.

Interactive exhibits: Engage with displays revealing the ship’s trading routes, cargo, and the stories of those who sailed her.

What to bring

Carry a valid photo ID if it is requested at the entrance.

Download the free audio tour beforehand to avoid any potential connectivity issues at the site.

Have your car park ticket ready if you selected the parking access option.

What’s not allowed

Outside food and meals are not permitted on board.

Large bags, suitcases, or oversized luggage cannot be brought onto the ship for security reasons.

Pets are not allowed, except for registered assistance dogs.

Accessibility

Due to the historic nature of the ship, the experience may not be fully suitable for all mobility needs.

A maximum of three wheelchairs can be accommodated on the ship at any one time to comply with fire safety and evacuation regulations.

Accessible parking is only available if you have the corresponding car park ticket.

Additional information

All children, including those under 4, must be accompanied by a paying adult.

The downloadable audio tour is available with British Sign Language support.

The ship is open from 10am to 5pm, with the last admission at 4:15pm.

The car park is situated on Park Row and closes immediately after 5pm.

Car park access is only included if you purchased the specific parking option.

For a quieter visit, try to come outside of peak hours between 12pm and 3pm.

Getting there

By Bus

Reach the Cutty Sark bus stop using buses on routes 129, 177, 180, 188, 199, or 386.

By Metro

Take the Southeastern Line to Greenwich station and then the DLR line to Cutty Sark. The attraction is a 3-minute walk from here.

By Boat

You can take an MBNA Thames Clipper from any of the major piers in London (London Bridge, London Eye, or Tower Pier), and reach the Greenwich stop directly.
