Cameron was a great guide with a lot of interesting knowledge and facts. The tour travelled at just the right pace for everyone. really great experience. Only surprise was the pot (midi) sized beer, would have appreciated atleast a schooner, otherwise all up a great evening with delicious food and awesome Aquarium

This guided experience offers exclusive after-hours access to the Cairns Aquarium, renowned for showcasing the unique biodiversity of Tropical North Queensland. As dusk falls, observe how animals adapt their behaviours from day to night across diverse habitats, from mountain streams to the Coral Sea.

Guided twilight tour: Explore 10 tropical ecosystems, each highlighting the transition from daylight to night in the Wet Tropics.

Animal adaptations: Learn how reptiles, amphibians, insects, and nocturnal fish respond to sunset, emerging from their daytime shelters.

Exclusive access: Enjoy the aquarium’s exhibits in a quieter, after-hours setting, allowing for more personal interaction with your guide and the displays.

Bring a valid photo ID to match the name on your booking if requested at the entrance.

What’s not allowed

Pets and outside food and beverages are not allowed inside the aquarium.

Accessibility

The aquarium is wheelchair accessible, with lifts, escalators, and accessible toilets available throughout the attraction.

Additional information

Check-in time is at 3pm; the guided tour starts at 3:15pm.

Meals for infants are not included unless a child fare is booked.

The on-site restaurant will be closed for renovations. A new restaurant, Squires Loft, will open on September 20th, 2025.

By Bus

There are bus services on Lake and Abbott Street, right outside the Aquarium. The Cairns Aquarium is conveniently located in the heart of Cairns, next to Novotel Cairns Oasis Resort and opposite DoubleTree by Hilton

By Walk

The aquarium is located one block from The Esplanade, two blocks from the Lagoon Pool and an easy 5 mins walk from the Cruise Terminal
