Functional the Leonardo Express train; excellent as a route and explanations the I love Rome tour bus but on the app I could not locate the departure stop from Termini station and had to ask. Maybe the starting point could be better signaled. Paula

The train platform is right at the airport. The train is comfortable and fast. It took us 32 minutes to reach the central Termini station. The return journey was just as easy. I bought the tickets online and no need to print: just scan the QR codes on your phone. Tickets are easy to buy online. I find it very clear if you take the time to read the steps. Crowds and queues in Italy are always a bit chaotic, but that's the culture of the country.

There's no need for a detailed commentary. The Leonardo Express is the best way to get from Stazione Termini to Fiumicino, and I use it every time I need to get to the airport from Termini. This time I bought the ticket via Headout to avoid the ticket machines. I'll use Headout again if I have to go to Fiumicino next year. It's much more convenient than an automat, at least for me. When booked on line it said you could use all day if missed the train which we did by 3 minutes due to late flight and slow immigration process no where was it mentioned that there would be a further €5 fee
