The thing I liked most was the guide, Gennaro. Really great; he knew he didn't have much time and managed the group dynamics as best as possible having only two hours. Professional, mild-mannered, competent, polite, with a calm voice, obviously excellent English, and occasionally cracked a nice joke to make the tour more enjoyable (and he succeeded). Well done, Gennaro, I told you in person and I confirm it in writing. A few areas for improvement, which I don't think are down to Gennaro: 1) Punctuality: foreigners aren't as used to delays as we Italians are. 2) Preparing the headphones in advance by the support staff: since you recommend arriving 15 minutes early, your two staff members could start checking that the headphones work. 3) Sharing the tour itinerary in advance: it would be nice to know from the start which spots will be visited on the tour, perhaps marking the route and stops on the map you hand out, and as an added value, pointing out which places visitors could explore on their own depending on how much time they have left. Don't get me wrong, I'm thrilled with everything; I work in another field but I teach as well, and I know there's always room for improvement, so I'm just taking the liberty of sharing minor areas to improve. So well done guys, wonderful tour, it stayed close to my heart, and above all, hats off to Gennaro!

Pompeii was a great experience. The map was difficult to follow and we missed some exhibits that we were wanting to see. But overall what an incredible walk through history.

Kind and very knowledgeable guide. They showed us around the most famous sights, explaining them in a fascinating way from both a historical and technical perspective. The visit to the thermal baths was especially interesting; I had no idea there were lockers to store your clothes, just like in modern swimming pools. The water heating system was also very intriguing, as was the architectural design used to prevent condensation and dripping water. Visiting the House of the Vettii, definitely the most famous home in Pompeii, was also great; I already knew about it, but had never seen it in person. At the end of the tour, the guide gave us several tips on other noteworthy things to see, such as the theater district and the amphitheater. Thank you!

We really enjoyed the entire tour. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and shared Latin words connecting the things we saw. The guide, Antonio, was a native of Pompei and he was clearly passionate about what he shared. He took us to areas that had less people observing where the other tours were going. He showed us parts of everyday life reiterating what we saw as if we were all Pompeians! He was humorous and kept everyone engaged including children. He went a little longer because he wanted to show us what was currently being excavated. We had a fun and interesting afternoon. Antonio is excellent! The organizing of the tour group by the Askos representatives was well organized and friendly. We have done numerous tours now with Headout with great success and highly recommend them. Thank you!

We had an amazing tour of Pompeii with Antonio, our archaeologist, who was absolutely brilliant! He shared a wealth of fascinating information about daily life in ancient Pompeii, the city’s excavations, and the historical context in which the city developed and ultimately met its fate. What made the tour truly special was his ability to bring history to life, explain the significance of what we were seeing, and answer all our questions with great knowledge and enthusiasm. His explanations went far beyond the usual facts and gave us a much deeper understanding of what life was really like in Pompeii. Antonio’s passion, expertise, and engaging storytelling made this an unforgettable experience. We couldn’t recommend this tour highly enough!

From purchasing the tickets to picking them up, everything went smoothly. Pompeii: how can you even describe it? Big—no, massive, impressive, and harrowing considering the fates of those who lived there! You have to see it for yourself and take the time to really let it sink in. Still, I would like to mention one drawback. We were recommended a shuttle in connection with the villa district; the young woman even marked the area on the map. But that area is visited on foot, which made us a bit suspicious. Back at our parking spot, we looked into it and discovered that the shuttle was actually going to Villa Regina, located outside the site in Boscoreale. That was completely useless as it was never communicated to us, what a shame!

You get good info from Head out, but in the beginning it was quite a search to find where we could go with our tickets. We couldn't enter the site straight from the train together with the other visitors; we still had to walk 1.5 km to a kind of tourist office to get our final tickets there (we had already queued up in the regular line with our Head out tickets first). Rather than the audio guide, it's better to buy a paper guide right there in this shop that creates a route based on the time you have; it costs 10 € and is available in Dutch. Because the audio guide doesn't guide you around; when you reach a specific number, you have to look it up and listen (Dutch is not available). We took the 2-hour route ourselves; if you do that, you'll miss the famous bodies you expect to see, so check the map first to see where you can see them and add that to your route. All in all, a positive experience, though a bit of a search at first (but it is actually indicated in your booking info).

Easy to book, nice place, worth to see. Pompeii offers a haunting, yet fascinating glimpse into ancient Roman life, frozen in time by the catastrophic eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD. Walking through its remarkably preserved streets, visitors can explore homes, temples, and vibrant frescoes that look almost untouched by centuries. The tragic plaster casts of the victims serve as a powerful, emotional reminder of the human toll. It is not just an archaeological site, but an extraordinary, unforgettable window into the past that bridges centuries.

Easy to book, quick notification regarding confirmation and ticket information. Quick email with our tickets and delivery of actual tickets in Whatsapp thus not having to check-in with the white kiosk. Having tickets ahead of time avoids lines to buy tickets. We walked right in and they scanned our phones. Easy to add audio guide for additional nominal charge. Actually provided written guides for other locations and tourist sites. Will use this vendor again without question.

The app was easy to use, entry was fast, and all points of interest were marked with numbers and descriptions. It's a shame it rained, but it wasn't slippery at all. The barrier-free accessible route was very well done. A great experience with still a lot left to see, hoping to return soon. Kudos to all the staff!
