Plitvice Lakes National Park Guided Tour

A visit to Plitvice Lakes is, in itself, a breathtaking experience: nature here is so powerful and captivating that you don’t need much explanation to be enchanted by it. The colors of the water, the suspended walkways, the waterfalls cascading one after another… it’s a place that speaks for itself and captivates everyone. The real added value, however, was having a guide like Jelena. She didn’t just tell us about the sights—she guided us through the park with such ease that she turned the day into something incredibly enjoyable and relaxing. Thanks to her expertise, we discovered:scenic viewpoints we would surely have missed on our ownthe best routes to enjoy the park to the fullest, without stresshidden corners where the beauty seems even purerphotographic moments that gave us perfect memoriesThe best part? We didn’t have to think about a thing: no doubts at the forks in the trail, no trouble figuring out the right direction, no wasted time. Jelena guided us calmly, attentively, and with a constant smile, allowing us to experience Plitvice to the fullest, focused solely on the wonder before us. A guide like this doesn’t just provide information—she brings serenity, order, and discovery. And she makes an already extraordinary place… simply unforgettable.

Let me just start this by saying that Plitvice park/ Lakes is absolutely breathtaking. A beauty worth to visit, leave, breat it and fully enjoy! That said, there are a few things worth mentioning: Well maintain all areas for the hike around the lakes, everything from bathrooms to restaurants, tram and boats are kept in mint condition. Our tour guide Samantha, answered all our questions and gave us suggestions as we ask for things to do around the area. As per our request, she suggest a place to have lunch after our morning tour, and it was amazing local food. Samantha kept a good pace, didn't rush us, informed us ahead of time if a break was possible or when we have time to stop and take pictures . Our group had all ages and everyone's was accomadated. The pictures are not as closed as the beauty of this natural beauty. Many people come for a day, we bought two day tickets, so we could enjoy the surroundings town and river Korna. A really great trip, with beautiful scenery and cascading lakes, and the water’s gorgeous color—a wonderful experience for both adults and children. It’s worth choosing the option with a guide who is fluent in English and Italian. Nikola, the guide, is a very nice young man with extensive knowledge of nature in this beautiful National Park; he’s friendly and helpful when exploring the park. There are a lot of visitors, but that doesn’t get in the way of walking around the lakes, It’s worth listening to the guide so you don’t end up wandering aimlessly. All in all, we were there for about 4.5 hours, including parking the car; I think that’s enough time to explore the area well and learn some interesting facts about this wonderful place. The park has a separate admission fee of 40€. This includes the bus and the boat. The guided tour was informative—but it dragged on quite a bit because the large group kept stopping everywhere to take photos for ages. You get through it faster without a guide. We started at Entrance 2, then took a completely overcrowded bus to Entrance 1—then walked to Station 3 (the pier in the water) and took the boat from Station 3 back to Entrance 2. That takes a total of 4 hours with a guide. Without one, maybe 2.5 hours. Dogs are allowed in the park.

Beautiful, breathtaking views. The kids were enchanted by the flora and fauna they encountered along the way. The scenery was like something out of a fairy tale or a movie like *Jurassic World*. We kept waiting for dinosaurs to appear among the rocks or emerge from behind the waterfalls. It’s a place we’ll definitely return to more than once, even though it’s kilometers away from home. A visit here is simply a beautiful lesson in biology and geography.
