A fitting follow-up to Channel 4’s eye-opening show It’s A Sin, Holden’s new play shines a light on the lives of homosexual men and women in 1980’s London. The play follows the story of a young man named Michael Spencer who learns that he is HIV positive and has just 4 years to live. With the approval of his partner Dave, he sells his house and car. Michael and Dave go on a spree of parties and celebrations, intending to make the most of the time they have left. Just two years later, Dave dies, but Michael continues to spend his money recklessly. With a day left before the end of his 4 years, Michael says an emphatic goodbye to all his friends, singing and dancing through the streets of Soho. But when he wakes up the next morning, he finds himself alive and in good health! Is there anything left to live for? What should he do now?

The show is directed by Bronagh Logan and features nostalgia-inducing 80s electronic live music by John Elliott.
