The tour was very well organized: - pick-up point was clearly visible - we were guided to the proper bus quickly - our tour guide was friendly, knowledgeable and kept to the schedule - the bus was comfortable for the entire day - the schedule was packed but there was enough time for the guided tours and some exploration - everything went as it should go

To start, We appreciated the photo that accompanied the directions on where to park and wait for our tour to start. This helped navigating much easier. Our tour guide, Steve, was friendly, funny, and enthusiastic about the story and history of the castle and Ludwig. I'm glad we spent the extra money to go with a guide versus explore by ourself up to the castle. The horse carriage back down was a nice, relaxing way to end the tour. We would choose this route again for tours.

Tickets worked perfectly! Each member of my family was given a device for listening in in our language during our guided tour. It was perfect! I recommend starting your walk up the mountain at least 45 minutes before the tour, or take advantage of the horse-drawn carriage. Get ready to take lots of great photos of the castle from the outside and of the outside from a window. No photos of the inside allowed.

A truly unique experience! From the outside, the castle looks like something out of a fairy tale! Inside, however, it surpasses anything you could imagine! Everything is simply amazing! Unfortunately, filming is not allowed inside the castle!

All the instructions led us right to our guide Steve. He was great. He had good stories to share. He was so kind to me, I have some mobility issue and he let me know how to get a chair if needed in the castle. That helped a lot. The van ride up and carriage ride back really made the journey very nice too. I highly recommend Steve as a guide.

Accessibility

Neuschwanstein Castle offers an elevator for wheelchair access. To ensure availability, we recommend you reserve it in advance.

The hiking trail to the castle is paved and partly very steep. It's best to use the horse carriage transport where any regular-sized, foldable wheelchair can be stowed in the trunk of the carriage. Please note that the carriages do not have a ramp.
