FamilyVerified booking2 days ago5/5Visiting Quinta da Regaleira was one of the best experiences of our trip. Every path, garden, and building seems to hold a story. The Initiation Well is even more impressive in person, and the atmosphere has a mysterious, magical quality that invites you to explore at your own pace. It’s a well-maintained place, full of details, and perfect for anyone who enjoys history, architecture, and nature. I would definitely go back and recommend it to anyone visiting Sintra.AAlex S
CoupleVerified booking3 weeks ago5/5At Quinta da Regaleira, it was obviously the Initiation Well—we’d never seen anything like it before—but also the manor house. I thought it was fantastic. My favorite part was the mosaic floor; I could have stared at it forever. So beautiful! I loved the entire country house; everything was put together with such taste and was so unique. And the garden—everything was just right, impressive! I highly recommend visiting this place!RRachael G
CoupleVerified booking2 weeks ago4/5This is a lovely place. Peaceful and not crowded when we were there. So nice to not have a "timed" ticket. I wish there was more information on the people who lived there through time because it is clearly an important place. What is special about it is that people actually lived there, and it feels that way. There is a lot of restoration happening and when it is finished it will be a really special place.GGloria T
GroupVerified bookingLast week5/5We loved everything—the breathtaking beauty of the surroundings. What a wonderful place!!! The buildings are of exceptional artistic quality, featuring sculptures, doors, frescoes, and marquetry. They had a team of true artisans and artists to create this dream in the midst of an area with magnificent vegetation!!! The staff was very friendly. And everything was well-maintained and clean. I 100% recommend visiting.HHugo G
FamilyVerified booking2 weeks ago5/5Me and my family spent a magical day at the Quinta Da Regaleira. A mystical place involved in symbolism and history worth every single step. To be able to see and feel the energy involved in the place through the tunnels and the beautiful architecture around and to admire the beautiful nature. Highly recommended and surely will be back.
This combo gives you access to two of Sintra's most iconic palaces: The National Palace of Sintra and the Quinta de Regaleira. Their proximity makes this the ideal booking for a tour of Sintra's best treasures.
National Palace of Sintra
The National Palace of Sintra served as a residence for almost every Portuguese king and queen till the end of the monarchy in 1910. The first thing you’ll notice from a distance is its two conical chimneys and rooms, culminating centuries of Moorish and Portuguese history. The tour will take you through some of its most iconic rooms, including the Swan Hall, the Magpie Room, the Palatine Chapel, and the Heraldic Hall with its octagonal dome. Each space features intricate details from a variety of different influences.
Quinta de Regaleira
The Quinta de Regaleira was built in the 20th century by António Augusto Carvalho Monteiro, a wealthy Brazilian businessman. Walking through each floor, you’ll come across a mix of Gothic, Rainnaisance, and Manueline styles. A stroll through the gardens will lead you to an underground network of tunnels and an initiation well. Every corner is dotted with symbolism, and the tunnels also lead to a secret entrance that leads to the Initiation Well.
