Mount Batur Sunrise Guided Jeep Tour with Black Lava Exploration, Breakfast & Hotel Transfers

What a stunning view! I chose this experience as a solo female traveler because I wanted to see the beautiful golden sunrise from Mt Batur without the trouble of planning and logistics. My driver Ronald was extremely prompt and gave very clear instructions for pickup/dropoff. Such a friendly man and made us laugh! He also let me borrow his spare jumper as I didn’t bring one with me to Bali! So nice of him. We stopped at a cafe around 4am where there was free coffee and biscuits, as well as blankets you can hire. Here we met our Jeep driver, Lintang, who was also an absolute pleasure. Extremely sweet and kind. He treated me like a friend instead of a customer. We got to the lookout spot with ample time before sunrise to gaze at the stars (we saw multiple shooting stars!) and Lintang took many photos for me, he’s clearly done this many times! The sunrise itself was mindblowing, popping out over the sea of fog was something I’ve never seen before. There was a bit of a holdup on the way back down due to the amount of jeeps, but it didn’t both me because I was happy to just take in the view. On the way home, Ronald allowed us to check out the coffee plantain where we were given a free tasting platter of various tea and coffees, so delicious! Overall amazing experience, great guides, and I felt very safe the whole time.

Maharata picked us up reliably from our hotel and took us safely to the meeting point. He was a very friendly and kind driver, and we had some great conversations along the way. He also gave us some wonderful recommendations for the rest of our holiday – including some real insider tips that we are very grateful for. After the tour, Maharata also picked us up again from the hot springs and drove us safely back to our hotel. He was reliable, helpful and made us feel very well taken care of throughout the whole trip. Watching the sunrise on Mount Batur was definitely one of the highlights of our Bali holiday. Ahn drove us safely up the mountain in his Jeep in the dark and found a fantastic spot for us where we could enjoy the sunrise with a beautiful view. The whole experience was very well organized, and we always felt safe and comfortable. A big thank you to Maharata and Ahn for making this such a memorable experience! We would absolutely recommend this tour.

The tour is wonderful; we chose the option that included hotel pickup and drop-off. After being picked up by the initial driver, we were taken to a meeting point where we were handed over to another driver who took us up Mount Batur in a Jeep. The drive through the natural landscape was fun. Once on the mountain, we waited for the sunrise, and our driver took some beautiful photos of us—he was truly excellent! After witnessing a spectacular sunrise, we headed to the "Black Lava" area—a vast expanse left by an old eruption. Afterward, we were taken to the hot springs to warm up and relax. From there, our first driver returned to take us to a coffee plantation for a tasting session—a really great experience! A special mention goes to the driver, who was punctual, friendly, and the most honest person I have ever met in my life (I had left my wallet in his car, and he brought it back to us); I can't thank him enough!

We had such an amazing tour! The sunrise was perfect and the staff made us feel so happy and comfortable. Prapte picked us up from our villa in Ubud and drove us the hour all the way to Mt Batur. Once there we met our driver Cipto, who took us for tea/coffee/water and biscuits. From there he did an amazing job of driving my 3 year old son to the sunset viewing area. He took some amazing pictures/videos and provided breakfast. He was very skilled at driving and gave us some interesting knowledge about the area and what we were seeing. Once the tour was finished he dropped us back to Prapte, who took us to the coffee tasting. We had such a fun time and he offered to take us to a lunch spot before going home but we needed to get back to the villa for a nap. Such a great experience, would definitely recommend 🙏

This was such a great experience, we had transfer to and from our villa including a great stop at the lewak coffee plantation with my driver Ronald, he was fun and very good with the kids and made good conversation and had good knowledge to support our group. When we had the "jeep" tour up to the lookout point on the mountain for the sunrise we had 2 cars and 2 tour guides Mangku merta adn mang rai in my car the tour guide was his first time having kids in the car and he was so good, they gave us options where to go and were very flexible with time at each stop etc. They acted as our cameramen and took amazing photos, they had great ideas and were obviously very experienced. This was definitely one of the highlights of the trip :)

The jeep tour up Mount Batur to watch the sunrise + ATV ride was wonderful. Andre was the one who picked us up at the hotel and took us to the starting point of the activity; he was very friendly and explained everything we were going to do along the way. After watching the sunrise, we went on the ATV ride, which was a lot of fun. I highly recommend this activity—it was an incredible experience.
