Mount Batur Sunrise Guided Jeep Tour with Black Lava Exploration, Breakfast & Hotel Transfers

We had a great time on Mount Batur. Ismail was polite, communicating very well and safe driver. He made sure our trip to Mount Batur and return back to the resort was pleasant. He went above and beyond in accommodating our special request to stop at the cafe in Kintamani. Putra was also amazing. He took us in the jeep to watch the sunrise and then to lava rocks and dropped us off at the hotel springs. Overall, we highly recommend this team to everyone looking for Mount Batur sunrise activities.

We went on the Mount Batur tour, and we have wonderful memories of it. Everything was perfectly organized, and the experience lived up to the description. A big thank you to our driver, Putra Lastchild, who was exceptional from start to finish. He was kind, punctual, helpful, and always available to assist us. He was also very thoughtful and gave us valuable advice throughout the day.

An amazing tour! We knew we would like it, but it truly left us speechless. Everything was perfect, right from the hotel pickup, the coffee before the jeep ride, the tour around Mount Batur, and seeing the lava... everything was breathtaking. We want to especially highlight the professionalism of our jeep guide, Konyes, who accompanied us the whole time and was our great personal photographer! 🧡

The Jeep driver, Ryan, was amazing! He puts his heart and soul into his work and really looks out for his “passengers.” 5 stars! Wira, the driver, was also great! He really went above and beyond. He came up with some creative ideas and surprised us. 5 stars here, too! Thanks to both of these great drivers! The sunrise and the lava field are absolutely beautiful, interesting, and well worth seeing. The coffee tasting is okay if you’ve never done it before and would like to try some Luwak coffee. However, it’s not free, as they’d have you believe. But it’s affordable. Of course, this isn’t actually a plantation, and the coffee isn’t produced there either. It’s all just a show for tourists. You can only imagine what really goes on with the Luwak cats… so in my opinion, this shouldn’t be supported. The hot springs definitely get 0 points. We’ve never seen anything so disgusting, dirty, unhygienic, and neglected in our entire lives. The fact that tourists are still being brought there is a damn outrage on the part of the operators! All the showers are completely—and I mean completely—moldy; the restroom facilities, without exaggerating, certainly haven’t been cleaned in years. The “mats” on the floor—or what’s left of them—are green, dirty, and slimy. There are no showers outside. So everyone goes into the pool without showering. The changing rooms stank so badly from the people who had changed there that it was as if they hadn’t washed in weeks. And then everyone goes into the pools… this facility should be shut down!!! We didn’t go swimming!

What a stunning view! I chose this experience as a solo female traveler because I wanted to see the beautiful golden sunrise from Mt Batur without the trouble of planning and logistics. My driver Ronald was extremely prompt and gave very clear instructions for pickup/dropoff. Such a friendly man and made us laugh! He also let me borrow his spare jumper as I didn’t bring one with me to Bali! So nice of him. We stopped at a cafe around 4am where there was free coffee and biscuits, as well as blankets you can hire. Here we met our Jeep driver, Lintang, who was also an absolute pleasure. Extremely sweet and kind. He treated me like a friend instead of a customer. We got to the lookout spot with ample time before sunrise to gaze at the stars (we saw multiple shooting stars!) and Lintang took many photos for me, he’s clearly done this many times! The sunrise itself was mindblowing, popping out over the sea of fog was something I’ve never seen before. There was a bit of a holdup on the way back down due to the amount of jeeps, but it didn’t both me because I was happy to just take in the view. On the way home, Ronald allowed us to check out the coffee plantain where we were given a free tasting platter of various tea and coffees, so delicious! Overall amazing experience, great guides, and I felt very safe the whole time.

Maharata picked us up reliably from our hotel and took us safely to the meeting point. He was a very friendly and kind driver, and we had some great conversations along the way. He also gave us some wonderful recommendations for the rest of our holiday – including some real insider tips that we are very grateful for. After the tour, Maharata also picked us up again from the hot springs and drove us safely back to our hotel. He was reliable, helpful and made us feel very well taken care of throughout the whole trip. Watching the sunrise on Mount Batur was definitely one of the highlights of our Bali holiday. Ahn drove us safely up the mountain in his Jeep in the dark and found a fantastic spot for us where we could enjoy the sunrise with a beautiful view. The whole experience was very well organized, and we always felt safe and comfortable. A big thank you to Maharata and Ahn for making this such a memorable experience! We would absolutely recommend this tour.
