I thought it was great how easy it was to buy the tickets and then see them appear in the app. The Pena Palace and the Quinta da Regaleira in Sintra are must-see attractions if you’re visiting the Lisbon area. If you take bus 435 to the Quinta and bus 434 to the Pena Palace, remember to be at the bus stop well in advance, since they can come very frequently—or you might end up waiting at the stop for 30 minutes. We arrived late relative to our ticket purchase time, but they didn’t give us any trouble getting in.

The Quinta da Regaleira has truly fascinating corners, like the famous initiatory well and its network of tunnels, but the overall experience is greatly diminished by the tourist overcrowding. It's almost impossible to enjoy the mysticism or the peace of its gardens when you have to wait in monumental lines just to take a picture or to walk the paths. Furthermore, the lack of crowd control makes a place that should be magical become a stressful and uncomfortable space to visit.

Both palaces and their gardens are truly marvelous. We especially liked the Regaleira Palace much better, with its caves, fountains, and the spectacular inverted well. As for the Pena Palace, it was a cloudy and foggy day, and the scenery wasn’t as striking as it would have been under clear skies. What I liked least was the massive crowd at the Pena Palace—it was a real shame. It was like lice in a seam. We didn’t enjoy it as much as we did the Regaleira Palace.

The line was extremely long just to get into the park (even with a ticket). I don't understand how they could handle it so poorly. It was really awful. The actual attraction, though, was great. I’d recommend the park to anyone. There’s a lot to see, and I’d definitely go back. You don’t get to see grottoes, caves, and miniature castles like that every day.

I enjoyed the tour of the Pena Palace and the various terraces because of the views they offer. The park is pleasant to walk through, although all the hills are tiring. Well-organized. Quinta da Regaleira: The palace and chapel are very beautiful on the outside, though there isn’t much to see inside. The most interesting thing to see was the Initiation Well. Very pleasant café.

It was an unforgettable day—the forests, the fountains, the castle, and the surrounding area—everything was so beautiful. A very special day. It was a cold day, but that meant we were able to spend August admiring the castle and the gardens, the cross, and the chalet. The forests make the setting truly special.

Pena Palace is absolutely breathtaking! It’s charming, colorful, and beautifully nestled in the countryside, with incredible views stretching all the way to Lisbon. The interior tour was very well organized and moved quickly. Even though there were a lot of visitors, the waiting time was minimal, making the experience enjoyable from start to finish. The palace also has a lovely gift shop and café that are worth visiting. The walk up from town is quite steep and hilly, but it’s absolutely worth the effort. If you’d rather skip the climb, there are plenty of tuk-tuks and taxis available. We’re so happy we booked our tickets through Headout—it made the entire experience smooth and stress-free. Pena Palace was definitely one of the highlights of our trip!

A day in Sintra with a visit to the Pena Palace. There were lots of people in line, but the ticket times were honored! Inside the palace, the tour moves slowly but is absolutely beautiful—especially for the panoramic views and the vantage points from which you can admire the park and, above all, the palace’s exterior. The tour of Quinta da Regaleira is surprising, with its initiation well and underground tunnels: you even emerge right beneath a waterfall... A must-see. The combined ticket with fixed times is very convenient.
