It’s worth buying a ticket that includes multiple attractions, since it works out cheaper. The purchase process is easy and intuitive. During the week, we had no problem buying tickets the day before. We started with a boat at a specific time because they depart from Central Station, which is in a great part of Amsterdam. The restroom on the boat is free. It was a very pleasant cruise. You can sit inside or outside the boat. About two hours later, we had a reserved entry to Madame Tussauds. We really enjoyed it—the figures looked just like the real thing. At the entrance, we received a ticket with a barcode that, at the end of the tour, lets you view your photos on a screen and purchase them for an additional fee. It was a lot of fun. I recommend both attractions—it’s a shame we didn’t have time for others.

Madame Tussauds Amsterdam is an incredibly fun experience where the sheer realism of the wax figures leaves you completely amazed. I loved how beautifully varied the themed rooms were, seamlessly transitioning from A-list celebrities and historical figures to interactive music and film zones. One note is that I wish they would make it even bigger—the experience was so engaging that I simply didn’t want it to end!

A wonderful place with friendly—perhaps even overly friendly—service; despite the increased tourist traffic, the customer is still king. The trains are so punctual, with minimal wait times when transferring, and the signage clearly indicates where and when the train is arriving. There’s a wide selection of food and drinks.
