Enjoy this sharp, biting comedy starring Katherine Parkinson (The IT Crowd) as Judy, a 1950s, idyllic housewife with a suburban home and white picket fence. This intelligent story showcases how looks can be deceiving, and that there's more to a pretty picture than what you see on the surface.
Why Watch Home, I’m Darling
Why Watch Home, I’m Darling
Katherine Parkinson of The IT Crowd, Humans, and The Honourable Woman fame is the picture-perfect 50’s housewife, Judy, in this sharp, funny play by Laura Wade. This cutting new comedy showcases one woman’s desire to be a cookie-cutter housewife. Ably supported by Richard Harrington as Judy’s husband, this show promises to be funny and touching at the same time.
The Story
Appearances can be deceiving - and this couldn’t be further from the truth for Judy and Johnny, who seemingly have the perfect life together. Their fantasies differ slightly from most other couples - but it’s nothing they can’t handle. Or so they think. But when the truth of their situation slowly begins to unravel, Judy begins to realise that her life may not be picture-perfect after all...

Critics’ Reviews
”Can you feel nostalgia for an era you have never lived through? Yes, say the interiors magazines and Pinterest boards, with their midcentury sideboards and Ercol dining tables; yes, say the pub swing-dancers in their print dresses and victory rolls. And yes, say married couple Judy and Johnny in Home, I’m Darling, Laura Wade’s hilarious, pin-sharp new play.”
