It's too bad we can't go to the top of the Belém Tower anymore, but the monastery is very beautiful. The cloister is a place that invites contemplation.

“An excellent experience. The Belém Tower and the Jerónimos Monastery are two must-see attractions in Lisbon. The ticket was very easy to use, and the entire process was well organized. The monastery is impressive for its architecture, and the Belém Tower offers spectacular views along the Tagus River. I recommend arriving early to avoid the lines and enjoy the sites at a more leisurely pace. I would definitely book with Headout again.”

Everything was perfect for our visit on July 25: we entered the Belém Tower at 10 a.m. with no line, and the same was true for the Monastery at 1 p.m. We were able to explore at our own pace and take photos without too many people crowding the scenic spots! Truly excellent!

There was no line up, we entered very fast! The Belem Tour seems to have been all cleaned recently, it's beautiful!! We couldn't go to the very top the dat we were there.

It wasnt a smooth entry delay in ticket being emailed so a little frustration waiting, but got in with 15 min delay, belem tower is small but worth a visit if you enjoy historical stuff , very differant from most things & interesting great design .

Learn about the Belém Tower

Your English and Spanish-speaking guide will walk you through the history of the monument for over 1.5 hours. The tower has 5 levels connected by a spiral staircase. These stairs are so narrow that they’ve installed a traffic signal set up to go up and down the stairs! Visit the octagonal Governor's Chamber and then make your way to the King’s room which overlooks the southern side of the tower. Another interesting element in this room is the eight holes in the floor called 'machicolations', through which the garrison could shoot or drop projectiles to fend off attacks.

Capture Panoramic Views

Get stunning views of the Tagus Estuary and riverbanks from the terrace. Looking northward, catch sight of the secluded Chapel of St. Jerome among the trees on Avenida da Liberdade.
