The ROMA exhibition was truly impressive and beautifully presented. It was a wonderful experience to explore the history, culture, and everyday life of the Roman Empire. The displays, information, and overall atmosphere were excellent. I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Melbourne Museum.

The Rome exhibition was excellent! Very well curated and set out. - based around some key themes (Empire, Power, People) - well structured without having to many artifacts. - good sound and visual effects - space to walk around and take in the exhibition - a quality 2 hours well spent.

Beautifully presented with amazing artifacts. Plenty of information and explanation appropriate for older children. My granddaughter loved the treasure hunt provided. Highly recommend this exhibition

Great exhibition, lots of things to see. Spaced out evenly and was a great walk through with both visual and audio effects. Very interesting! Will definitely see again

Loved the whole exhibit,my favourite was the baths and the blue shimmer on the floor like water..abd the gossiping in Latin,the whole exhibit was wonderful.

Entry to the Rome exhibition was very smooth using the app. I particularly enjoyed the imaginative use of ai imagery, especially the Then and Now section, looking at the sites of old palaces and the Colosseum, what they looked like then and now. So many of the exhibits were plaques and statues of the deceased, particularly of children, due to the high infant mortality rate. It is obivous they were as grief stricken as we would be at the loss of a child. Fully recommend this exhibition.

Considering the amount of Roman artefacts there are in the world it fell short, missed 700 years of history. Rome wasn't born when Ceaser turned up.

Bring a valid ID for the experience.

What's not allowed

Alcoholic beverages, illegal drugs, controlled substances, outside food, and smoking are not allowed inside the venue.

The use of cameras, video cameras and mobile phones is prohibited in designated special exhibitions.

Accessibility

This experience is wheelchair accessible.

Wheelchairs are available free of charge from the foyer at Melbourne Museum for your visit.

Ramps and elevators are available at the venue for easy access.

Accessible parking spaces and lifts with tactile indicators are available at various locations throughout the Museum, including Rathdowne Street Car Park, Nicholson Street Car Park, between the Museum Shop and Café, at the Triceratops: Fate of the Dinosaurs exhibition, and at the IMAX Theatre.
