A great day with the Grandchildren on the Royal Yacht Britannia at Leith. The children enjoyed the independence of their own commentary with the audio guide. They loved looking for the hidden corgis and making their own way round. Would certainly recommend this trip. Booking beforehand was straightforward and made sure we could all get on the yacht on our chosen day.

We had the pleasure of visiting both Holyrood Palace and Edinburgh Castle, and we absolutely loved both experiences! They were truly amazing, and we would highly recommend them to anyone visiting Edinburgh. We book almost all of our experiences through Headout, and everything has gone smoothly every time. The tour of The Royal Yacht Britannia was at the top of my favorite list of tours on our 8 day trip to Scotland! We had a free day at the end of our time in Scotland and our tour director recommended this as an option. It was seamless to get tickets online. The audio guide was great, sharing the history of the yacht and the details of the items on display. We had scones and tea in the royal tea room on the Britannia. The view was gorgeous and treats were delicious. Wonderful selection of teas! We finished at the beautiful gift shop. We found souvenirs and gifts to bring home.

What a lovely day out to see this beautiful yacht, and to touch a bit of our wonderful history . Our daughter bought it for her grans birthday she's 91 and we all thought we would tag along so pleased we did , from the Lovely lady checking us inn til checking back out all the staff were ABSOLUTELY AMAZING AND WELCOMING and the Gentleman that stopped to talk to us about the Engine room was absolutely fascinating to hear his Enthusiasm about this beautiful yacht . We had a wonderful day but my 91 year old mother in law had SIMPLY THE BEST .

For safety and security reasons, a one-way route operates inside the Palace of Holyroodhouse.

The palace is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Last admission time is 3:15pm.
