We are from Denmark and had taken the German tour. There was a lot of fast talking, so we recommend choosing the English one, if youre not german. However, the pace matched the atmosphere and content, so it was exciting the whole time. Skilled actors, suitably creepy and funny. The way they involved the audience was fun. It’s worth experiencing if you’re in Hamburg. It only takes an hour, which is just right for the experience.

We visited the Hamburg Dungeon and loved it. Hamburg’s history is told in a very creative way through live actors and spine-chilling scenes. The blend of humor and thrills is perfectly executed—sometimes funny, sometimes scary, but always entertaining. We were particularly impressed by the amount of effort and attention to detail that went into the individual shows and rooms. For about 1.5 hours of entertainment, we found the price absolutely reasonable. We do have one small criticism, however: In our opinion, the last two stops are significantly scarier and more psychologically intense than the rest of the tour. Therefore, we wouldn’t necessarily recommend these sections for children under 12 or even 14, even though it’s officially allowed.

Our visit to the Dungeons was a birthday wish from a dear friend. I’m not really a fan of scary stuff, but it was truly amazing and well worth it. It really put my nerves to the test—I was genuinely scared at times—but all in all, I’m so glad I went. I was deeply moved by the city’s stories, the staff were incredibly friendly, and the actors did a wonderful job bringing that period of history to life. Thank you, dear Dungeons crew. Exciting, a little spooky, and full of great surprises. We really enjoyed it and weren’t bored for a single second. The stories were very interesting, and the acting ranged from good to excellent! It would be helpful to have the option to get photos taken at the end (other than the poor-quality one for €10) so we could include one here for the review.

The Hamburg Dungeon is an exciting attraction that brings alive the darkest periods of the city in an innovative way. Go on a journey back in time with terrifying stories and dark characters brought back to life. The professional actors and the special dramatic effects ensure you experience a special kind of live entertainment with 11 different shows on a 70-minute tour.

Thrilling rides and themed sets

Ride the 'Elevator of Doom', and descend into a world of dungeon, cogs, and chains. You can also get an insight into the dark years of the Plague or try to save the pirate Klaus Störtebecker from execution. Lovers of the macabre will have the time of their life for sure! It isn’t for the faint of heart, but for everyone aged 10 and over!

This activity is not suitable for children below the age of 10.

Children under 15 years of age must be accompanied by an adult (over 18).

Due to special and lighting effects, Hamburg Dungeon might not be suitable for people with severe nerve conditions.

Show takes place in German language. English shows are available very limited only from Fridays to Sundays. Please select the English Show option if you want to attend an English-speaking show
