As a tourist destination, the Algarve possesses a special charm because it offers top-notch facilities while maintaining its own identity, a fact that can be seen in traditional villages and activities such as the pottery of Porches. You can still see the pottery being made and painted by hand by the artisans at Porches Pottery's workshop, and you can see traditional methods of production still being used. A fishing village perched above the Atlantic, Benagil is a charming place with picturesque beaches, and the guitar-like sound of the Atlantic playing uninterruptedly will transport you to a whole other place.

You can see the amazing caves and waterfalls in Algar Seco, which is close to the resort of Carvoeiro. Walk the cobbled streets of Ferragudo and down to its small harbor. We'll stop at a winery for a guided tour and tasting of some of the region's wines.
