Getting started

Arrive at the Ginza meeting point (Shintomicho 1-Chome Bldg. 1F, 1-3-2 Shintomi, Chuo-ku) 15 minutes before your scheduled time. Present your passport and your original paper International Driving Permit (1949 Geneva Convention) or a valid Japanese driver's license for check-in. After a brief registration, select your costume and get ready for your go-kart adventure.

What to expect

Ginza go-kart city cruise

Take the wheel of a themed go-kart and follow your guide in convoy through Ginza’s lively streets, passing iconic Tokyo landmarks along the way.

Cruise past well-known sites such as Kabukiza Theatre, Toyosu Market, Tsukiji Hongwanji Temple, and Tokyo Tower, experiencing the city from a unique street-level perspective.

Enjoy a 60-minute go-kart driving experience, with all required liability insurance and consumption tax included in your booking.

Choose your favorite costume from a wide selection to transform your ride into a playful, photo-worthy adventure.

Before setting off, participate in a safety briefing and driving practice, where staff explain kart controls, hand signals, and traffic rules to ensure you feel confident on the road.

During the ride, your guide will capture photos of you in action, so you can relive the excitement long after your drive.

In the summer months, stay comfortable with free cooling gear provided: a cooling poncho, icy neck cooler, and cooling spray are included for every rider.

Wrapping up

At the end of your route, return to the meeting point to hand back your costume and receive the photos taken during your ride. If you wish to record your own footage, GoPro rentals and SD cards are available on-site for an extra fee. Hotel pick-up and drop-off, as well as other personal expenses, are not included.

What to bring

Bring your original paper International Driving Permit (1949 Geneva Convention) or a valid Japanese driver's license, as well as your passport, for check-in and verification.

Wear comfortable clothes that allow you to move easily, as costumes are worn over your own clothing.

Wear shoes that stay securely on your feet; sneakers or other flat, closed shoes are strongly recommended, while backless sandals, flip-flops, slides, high heels, and any footwear unsuitable for operating pedals are not allowed.

In winter, dress warmly and consider bringing gloves, as the karts are open-air and it can get cold while driving.

Backless sandals, flip-flops, slides, high heels, and any footwear unsuitable for operating pedals are not allowed for safety reasons.

Long, loose skirts, dresses, or dangling scarves and accessories that could get caught in the kart are not permitted.

Additional information

The total experience time is approximately 90 to 105 minutes, including check-in, costume selection, safety briefing, a 60-minute go-kart city cruise, and photo sharing at the end.

Costumes are provided and worn over your own clothing, so avoid wearing anything that could interfere with the costume or driving.

Long hair should be tied back to prevent it from getting caught in the kart.

During the summer season, free cooling gear such as a cooling poncho, neck cooler, and cooling spray is provided to help you stay comfortable while driving.

Important documents

You must have original hard copies of all three documents:

Driving licence from your country of origin (no temporary or paper licences).

International Driving Permit (IDP) issued under the Geneva Convention 1949 (must be issued in your own country by an officially registered authority).

Passport

Important Notes on IDPs:

IDPs must be issued by an approved organization in your country (e.g., AAA in the US, CAA in Canada).

Vienna Convention 1968 IDPs are NOT accepted in Japan.

The IDP must be in booklet form, not a digital or paper format.

If you cannot present a hard copy of your IDP on the day of the activity, you cannot participate and will not receive a refund.

Visitors must obtain the IDP before traveling—you cannot get a valid IDP in Japan.

It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure they have valid documents. Failure to do so will result in denial of participation without a refund.

Visitors from Switzerland, Germany, France, Belgium, Monaco, Taiwan, and Estonia must provide:

Driving license from your country of origin (no temporary or paper licenses).

Official Japanese translation of your license, issued by JAF (Japan Automobile Federation)

Passport

US Military Personnel, you may drive using:

SOFA License (USFJ Form 4EJ).

OR a Combination of Active Military ID and State-Side Driver’s License.

Visitors from China, Brazil, and Indonesia cannot drive in Japan, as these countries are not part of the 1949 Geneva Convention.
