CoupleVerified bookingLast week4/5You get good info from Head out, but in the beginning it was quite a search to find where we could go with our tickets. We couldn't enter the site straight from the train together with the other visitors; we still had to walk 1.5 km to a kind of tourist office to get our final tickets there (we had already queued up in the regular line with our Head out tickets first). Rather than the audio guide, it's better to buy a paper guide right there in this shop that creates a route based on the time you have; it costs 10 € and is available in Dutch. Because the audio guide doesn't guide you around; when you reach a specific number, you have to look it up and listen (Dutch is not available). We took the 2-hour route ourselves; if you do that, you'll miss the famous bodies you expect to see, so check the map first to see where you can see them and add that to your route. All in all, a positive experience, though a bit of a search at first (but it is actually indicated in your booking info).CClaudia M
CoupleVerified booking2 weeks ago5/5From purchasing the tickets to picking them up, everything went smoothly. Pompeii: how can you even describe it? Big—no, massive, impressive, and harrowing considering the fates of those who lived there! You have to see it for yourself and take the time to really let it sink in. Still, I would like to mention one drawback. We were recommended a shuttle in connection with the villa district; the young woman even marked the area on the map. But that area is visited on foot, which made us a bit suspicious. Back at our parking spot, we looked into it and discovered that the shuttle was actually going to Villa Regina, located outside the site in Boscoreale. That was completely useless as it was never communicated to us, what a shame!MMarianne M
CoupleVerified booking3 weeks ago5/5With the online tickets at 9:00 AM, we bypassed the queue and made it onto the grounds beautifully before the big rush. The self-guided tour at our own pace through the site impressed us very much! We marveled at the highly developed construction methods of the Romans and the way of life as it must have been around 79 AD. We got an idea of what the catastrophe surrounding the eruption of Mount Vesuvius must have meant for the people living there back then, and we were fascinated by how the ash preserved everything for posterity, like in a time capsule!AAna Ž
CoupleVerified bookingLast week5/5Easy to book, nice place, worth to see. Pompeii offers a haunting, yet fascinating glimpse into ancient Roman life, frozen in time by the catastrophic eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD. Walking through its remarkably preserved streets, visitors can explore homes, temples, and vibrant frescoes that look almost untouched by centuries. The tragic plaster casts of the victims serve as a powerful, emotional reminder of the human toll. It is not just an archaeological site, but an extraordinary, unforgettable window into the past that bridges centuries.RRichard H
CoupleVerified booking2 weeks ago5/5Easy to book, quick notification regarding confirmation and ticket information. Quick email with our tickets and delivery of actual tickets in Whatsapp thus not having to check-in with the white kiosk. Having tickets ahead of time avoids lines to buy tickets. We walked right in and they scanned our phones. Easy to add audio guide for additional nominal charge. Actually provided written guides for other locations and tourist sites. Will use this vendor again without question.
