Booking was really easy. Click click and it was done. Came straight to my phone. I actually did it on the way as my partner was driving. Was £6 cheaper doing it online. Brilliant. Dover castle was absolutely brilliant. We certainly got our steps in as we walked a lot.

We arrived by train and took the 30 minute walk to the ticket booth at the castle. No problem exchanging the mobile ticket for a wristband. Decided to do the guided tours of the hospital and war rooms first, in case it got busy. They guide a maximum group size of 30. Guides were extremely engaging and enthusiastic. You'd think our tour was the only one they'd done that day! We then free roamed around the site. Plenty to see, the castle is very atmospheric, brought to life with tasteful reproductions of furnishings.
